I think you are crazy because zhuge doesn’t come until kvk3 at earliest and you can get ysg in kvk 1 and you don’t have any other circle aoe for chaining.

I really hope the devs implement something like sculpture reset, even if its a one time thing, so that older players can get something back from the sculptures used to invest in the old meta commanders of the past. my martel and ysg have been collecting dust for a couple seasons now 😂
@@alanlianov if you have Richard 5111, you can chain barbarians. If you don't have time for that, that's totally fine. You just have to research archer tech and make ebony in blacksmith and craft revival set and invest in Boudica Prime in kvk3. Most likely any march with Zhuge will get targeted very much in the next few months so you can chill with Boudi-Ysg in the meantime.
Feels really good to go into kvk3 as a low spender after maxing ysg and 5553 alex. Thank you lilith, im sure players wouldnt want an advanced notice for their spending.
Get used to it. Nothing will change in SOC. Once you expertised a commander, 1-2 new ones are out and are way better than the commander you just expertised. Thats why you should save your Gold Heads until you can actually expertise a commander from scratch. Then do it on a new meta one. Dont start commanders when u know it will take months.
For a new player that's just starting out who is f2p or low spender, Run Bjorn-Sun Tzu if you like infantry or Baibars-Aethelfaled for a cav march (It's like a budget Saladin-Aethel march). Archers in kvk 1-3 are just bad so stay away from them. Like Chis said, hoard sculpture for 6-7 months. If you do well in events, do Ark, max every MTG, put gems into VIP, guaranteed you can get anywhere between 800-1000 gold heads by the time you get to kvk 3 and you can expertise Scipio, Nevsky or Boudica, depending on what you want your first SoC march to be.

YSG will still be a solid investment for the early game because, 1 you still need to have fun before soc, 2 his AOE is still insanely good, not only for combat, but also for chaining barbs or whatever, 3 he's sooo universal, you could still pair him with anyone. you can put him behind nevsky or skippy or boudica and be quite happy. Unless ur completely f2p, YSG is still solid for an early game investment
Honestly bro since Zhuge has a circular AoE on his first skill. I think ysg is just a 5111 commander for f2p players. Grab him a relic his relic and it's good to go

1. Any number of commanders can let you have fun before SOC 2. Any number of commanders can chain late game. You’d probably be better off with a 5551 Richard for pve stuff. 3. He just isn’t universal anymore. You’re better off with Honda, Mehmed, JC etc if universal is what you want. Which it shouldn’t be, because what you should do is pick the best commanders for your roles

You wont have fun running elcid hermann, but you will have fun with alex ysg. there are other options yes, but YSG is easily top 3 pre soc. 2 is pure wrong. "Any number of commanders can chain late game" YSG Zhuge and the, theo's aoe is tiny, and we don't know about zhuge yet these are the only 3 that has circle AOE. 3 he is still universal, I'm not saying he's the best for soc but if you only enter soc and need literally ANYONE, YSG can be a good option. most new players wont have Mehmed maxed unless they are big spenders. commanders come and go, but YSG and his circle AOE will always be a solid investment, the best might be nevsky etc, but waiting for over half a year with no commanders...ppl might just quit

He’s not more diverse in any way. At this point you really can’t use a commander who effectively has two skills and no stats as a standin. You use Mehmed or Honda or even Ceasar if you need a placeholder

Chis you really should consider trying zhuge + artemesia for both of their fourth skills " only if zhuge can remove her silence" maybe their tankiness will be relevant to the missing march speed. And their dmg is gonna give enough value to explode enemies.
Well I am still ganna use him because I am not benching a maxed commander as a F2p. I am perfectly happy with using him with Henry also boudica art and Zhu with either nebu or Cyrus.
Very good informative video! I'am F2P and I invested like 400 golden heads on YSG so I'm a little upset about these changes. I think I will try to pair my YSG, but the best thing to do is to probably reset YSG in that yearly event to get my heads back. Anyways, time to see 1254 KVK with Zhuge Liang!
If Boudicca gives YSG (esp with 2nd relic) the tankiness, then there’s no point of meddling with that march. It’s better to pair Henry with Zhu, so that you get 2 high damage sustaining marches on top of your Nev+Joan. Please do testing for Zhu and help us determine 2 archer pairs.
I'm newer to the game than most people here and I just invested in YSG because it's been the industry standard since forever and now this dude comes out.
ysg + zl seems viable for low spenders/f2p who hve already maxed ysg . Also, lilith finally introduced the Kvk legendary infantry skin..done low key &without any extra cost. well done credit where its due
YSG may not be as good as ZL, but he is still a very solid investment and would be in top 2 archer marches, though not first. Telling people not to invest in him is wrong. He is still relevant in the late game and crucial in the early and mid game.
Basically if you invest into anything after kvk one ends, its 100% a waste unless you plan to migrate back to s2. Because you can skip s2 and s3 commanders entirely
I'm not sure about advising players not to max YSG. Relic could go up to 30% defense and possibly 10% skill damage. He's to versatile of a commander to bench. He can be paired with Heraculis, Honda, amd Trajan in the open field and can be paired with Zhuge for double circle AOE
Personally after watching both yours and omniarch video you guys kindda both have diffrent views and his break down acctualy seems to say alot the argument i see is if you already have ysg maxed its not worth using new archer commander till at least 5511 or better
I wish these changes happened before I entered kvk 2. Now I regret expertising YSG by the end of kvk 1. The changes weren't there yet so at that time YSG was still considered high value. Kinda sucks. Feels like you bought a game on steam then 2 days later that game went on a 50% sale.
Also while ysg 4th skill has some conflict with zhuge 4th skill. They still won't be a bad combo with a huge march speed weakness. But huge defense stats and Aoe nuke to make them capable of doing much more than they take in a murderball. That said, yes nevsky , joan prime, scipio prime are all really good to consider first.
One of the things that they're doing to keep commanders relevant is Bastion Skills, or more so Auxiliary Skills. I do agree though that prioritizing YSG isn't something I'd recommend for a low to mid spender any longer.

Question for everyone, is it worth investing in Scipio knowing that guan is so low priority that Scipio's expertise might never seen the light of the day. If someone would invest in Scipio, would he need to skip the other high priority commander to focus guan to make use of Scipio's expertise? Otherwise using scipio without guan feels like a lot of wasted potential.
Between my top 20 honor, the speeds ups, the arrows, the mats and the xp tomes i did in my kvk 1, i can't recommend enought YSG if you can expert him early.
So YSG is about to become my 2nd fully expertised legendary on the bench. Harald was the first. currently running Scipio/mehmed, Guan/Alex, Boudica/YSG, Nevsky/Joan, Saladin/William. next to go will be saladin so im thinking of starting out with ZL 5511 (I can expertise him) and keep hoarding the remaining sculptures for a bit, exp ZL is obviously better but if the next gen cav requires exp to "be good" i may exp that first and then keep working on ZL. will still find use for ysg certainly hes the value king for PvE after all. summon 10 kahars and have boudica/ysg kill them all for the price of one? sure, no problem.

I've been off for one year, the last hype i remember was nevsky and now i see a lot of these new commanders. if i were to play again like right now with new account f2p style. zhuge/nevsky will be replaced with newer future commanders, i think? haha
This is why I can't take this game seriously. I max exp ysg a long time ago. Now he's obsolete. Had a 55M account and abandoned it because half of my commanders are useless now
If you are part of the Archer gang, Boudica + YSG and Henry + ZGL. There 2 marches. If you just want for the lolz, run ZGL + YSG in Canyon and field. Canyon is fine since this pair is slow, so your tanks can attract the attention. In Field, you will be targeted by everyone, but if you pull it off, jesus christ.
A low spender or f2p has a couple of maxed purples in kvk2. Takes years to get enough keys to use the key commanders........so he is right save the heads for something worth having.
who should be done early otherwise? i still think ysg is good and why not just do both double full circle aoe....as a newer younger player you can only really field and have ready 1-2 marches
UGH... i hate that the adjustments happened after I made substantial investments in Alex and YSG... ughhhhhhhhh... we just entered SOC one month after this is announced .. now i'm starving goldheads working on many commanders
I'm very sad that YSG has now been demoted to the bench due to Zhuge Liang in a meta setup... but ultimately there's no way im ditching a max commander as a f2p.

YSG still such a good Commander, since you can use him second on Inf or Cav marches. Unlikely that someone can do 5 Meta Marches if they dont pay heavy
I've been a f2p governors for 4 years, and i don't even own YSG. I was playing the long game, waiting for Zhuge liang, because I originally thought I was playing Romance of Three Kingdoms. 😂
I’m running 2 archer marches and I’m opting for Boudica/YSG and ZL/Tomy(relic) to balance the march speed. I don’t have Art or Nebu. If I did I think I’d sub Art for YSG(maybe) and Neb for Tomy. But I think it’s close regardless. Just wish archers were faster :/
At this point what’s the argument for not making the SoC commanders available at KVK1? What’s the fun in waiting 7-8 months until you get to use gold heads?

I have expertise my YSG years ago and now I want to have another Archer commander as the primary commander. Either Prime Boudica or ZhuGe. So I'm would like to know which would be better to pair with YSG.
Lilith needs to allow the “Rebirth” event for SoC and just limit it to nonmaxed commanders that you didn’t fully invest in. This way you don’t get whales abusing it so they can get an extra 690 sculptures to immediate reallocate somewhere else.
Would ysg and zu make a good pair for canyons? In Open field they would be highly targetted but in Canyon, if in row behind it could be just massive damage no?
So in ginese Zhu would not zound like zu or zo. It would sound like ju like in juice. So Zhe then you would say ge like then Liang is correct as in the video. I am not 100% sure if is supposed to sound like that but in Chinese it would sound like ju .
This is a bit ridiculous for players who have already made plans to invest in YSG. For new players its more fair. With the addition of soc commanders in kvk3 that also messes with player investments. Kinda BS from Lillith. Players should have the ability to reset sculptures invested into what are now almost worthless commanders.
So that means soc commanders are also available for new players entering season 3 instead of only available for accounts migrating back to season 3 from soc? Because that changes things since the last I remember YSG comes at the end of kvk1. (been a couple years for me playing early kvk's)
Ysg will still be one of the best secondary commander. I imagine if I can have more than Ysg that will be pairing Boudicca, Rameses and other best Archer commanders. And finally.. Lilith presents us Zhuge Liang 🥳🥳

if you are out of position, tankiness wont help, you will get swarmed and the reports will make you cry!

There is no event to get the heads back that you’ve invested into YSG…

YSG sure did have a long shelf life I remember when I maxed him in like 2019 or something. RIP 🪦 to one of the greatest archer commander.

As a kvk3 player the soc commanders can be used in kvk3 and nevsky Joan and xy can be attained on a wheel at the start of kvk3

You can pair ysg with other commanders.
Between my top 20 honor, the speeds ups, the arrows, the mats and the xp tomes i did in my kvk 1, i can't recommend enought YSG if you can expert him early.
So YSG is about to become my 2nd fully expertised legendary on the bench. Harald was the first.
currently running Scipio/mehmed, Guan/Alex, Boudica/YSG, Nevsky/Joan, Saladin/William.
next to go will be saladin so im thinking of starting out with ZL 5511 (I can expertise him) and keep hoarding the remaining sculptures for a bit, exp ZL is obviously better but if the next gen cav requires exp to "be good" i may exp that first and then keep working on ZL.
will still find use for ysg certainly hes the value king for PvE after all. summon 10 kahars and have boudica/ysg kill them all for the price of one? sure, no problem.

I don't think YSG will stop being a good investment for an archers main, it is still gonna be number 4 at least imo at least until the next archers.
I've been off for one year, the last hype i remember was nevsky and now i see a lot of these new commanders. if i were to play again like right now with new account f2p style. zhuge/nevsky will be replaced with newer future commanders, i think? haha
I think they remove thutmose from gold keys after the new update drops. As they said Thutmose will be a season 2 commander

This is why I can't take this game seriously. I max exp ysg a long time ago. Now he's obsolete. Had a 55M account and abandoned it because half of my commanders are useless now
If you are part of the Archer gang, Boudica + YSG and Henry + ZGL.
There 2 marches.
If you just want for the lolz, run ZGL + YSG in Canyon and field.
Canyon is fine since this pair is slow, so your tanks can attract the attention.
In Field, you will be targeted by everyone, but if you pull it off, jesus christ.
A low spender or f2p has a couple of maxed purples in kvk2. Takes years to get enough keys to use the key commanders........so he is right save the heads for something worth having.
My plan is to use Henry/Zhuge and Boudica/nebu for field ….if i use boudica artemesia so slow and less aoe nebu give march speed and aoe up to 5march
How should we build zhege? First and fourth skill first?
who should be done early otherwise? i still think ysg is good and why not just do both double full circle aoe....as a newer younger player you can only really field and have ready 1-2 marches

UGH... i hate that the adjustments happened after I made substantial investments in Alex and YSG... ughhhhhhhhh... we just entered SOC one month after this is announced .. now i'm starving goldheads working on many commanders
I'm very sad that YSG has now been demoted to the bench due to Zhuge Liang in a meta setup... but ultimately there's no way im ditching a max commander as a f2p.

So, I'll go with Zhuge/YSG for ball fight. I'll use armament to boost archer march speed.

YSG still such a good Commander, since you can use him second on Inf or Cav marches. Unlikely that someone can do 5 Meta Marches if they dont pay heavy
No one who isn't paying heavy should be running 5 marches. You should only run as many marches as you can Meta or at least have 2nd Meta.

I’m running 2 archer marches and I’m opting for Boudica/YSG and ZL/Tomy(relic) to balance the march speed. I don’t have Art or Nebu. If I did I think I’d sub Art for YSG(maybe) and Neb for Tomy. But I think it’s close regardless. Just wish archers were faster :/
If you have Honda you could do Boudica Ysg and Zhuge Honda.
At this point what’s the argument for not making the SoC commanders available at KVK1? What’s the fun in waiting 7-8 months until you get to use gold heads?
Love how strong these new commanders are but killing early season commanders might not be the best for the game long term. How do you stay engaged for 3 KVKs when all you have is purple commanders?
As an archer main in SOC I still feel like YSG remains in the line up and zhuge replaces arti and/or nebu. Especially with the museum buff
I think you either do Boudica/Art or YSG. But Zhuge has to be with Henry or Nebu.
I'm starting again and thinking of spending a few heads on Alex 5511 and Ysg at 5111 then hoard everything rlse for SoC.

Chaining with Athelfled for about 10 months unstill SoC doesn't look that fun.
Lilith needs to allow the “Rebirth” event for SoC and just limit it to nonmaxed commanders that you didn’t fully invest in.
This way you don’t get whales abusing it so they can get an extra 690 sculptures to immediate reallocate somewhere else.

YSG zhuge are what I plan to use in canyon. Back row is there purely for damage, and in that regard these two will deliver

So in ginese Zhu would not zound like zu or zo. It would sound like ju like in juice. So Zhe then you would say ge like then Liang is correct as in the video. I am not 100% sure if is supposed to sound like that but in Chinese it would sound like ju .
This is a bit ridiculous for players who have already made plans to invest in YSG. For new players its more fair. With the addition of soc commanders in kvk3 that also messes with player investments. Kinda BS from Lillith. Players should have the ability to reset sculptures invested into what are now almost worthless commanders.
So that means soc commanders are also available for new players entering season 3 instead of only available for accounts migrating back to season 3 from soc? Because that changes things since the last I remember YSG comes at the end of kvk1. (been a couple years for me playing early kvk's)
Ysg will still be one of the best secondary commander. I imagine if I can have more than Ysg that will be pairing Boudicca, Rameses and other best Archer commanders. And finally.. Lilith presents us Zhuge Liang 🥳🥳
