This was rly a long time coming and as a coloured person I've never felt more represented through music, these new guys just make me feel cool for being gham
@@yano11onay imagine you create a genre of music and that it is so good that some individuals try to imitate it if not imitate, recreate it but it's not exactly hiphop as it is where it originated from because it doesn't meet its standards or "my idea" of what hiphop really looks like in terms of culture and history and all that bull shxt... of course it doesn't have to be exactly as where it came from but because it isn't.....people give it a name that represents their version of it, "South African hiphop", it could have been just South African hiphop but they further divide it and now there is "Afrikaans hiphop" what's next?..."Zulu hiphop", "xhosa hiphop"...why is it being divided when it's from the same people and sang to the same people? Are we all just going to invent our own version of "hiphop", to speak about the same issues? If one group of people became heard it would be "Afrikaans hiphop people" who get heard not the people who make hiphop music...but maybe I'm wrong , but I heard that hiphop was invented so black could have a voice so....I don't really know but it's all good music of course but if then the idea is that black people should have ways to express themselves then why do it separately? Now that is a question I'm not asking rhetorically.
Don’t be mean to be THAT guy, but why is Cream Machine and Early B nowhere to be found in this video? They’re the only two Afrikaans rappers signed by Sony Music. They pioneered and played a MASSIVE if not the BIGGEST roles into Afrikaans rap becoming mainstream 🫱🏻🫲🏼
No I appreciate any feedback bro. To be honest I wish I could make the video longer . But of cause I’m new to this type of content. So I still have lots to learn . Cream Machine however does appear here and there in the video. But there are so many more I wish I could’ve talked about. Perhaps how Early B story unfolded and so many more. but this was not made to exclude anyone, it was more plea for the rest of South Africa to embrace the Impact that Afrikaans is having on the Music scene. So this was for everyone including Cream Machine
Like you said you're new to this type of content Sevi🤭 The first video of the New Afrikaaans rappers that reached 1Million 🎉views was Luda G ft Pengii - Kani Wagi ( Excluding rappers like Early B, Cream and Youngsta )
It makes sense if you’re new to this so mercy vir dai, I didn’t mean to undermine your knowledge. I just felt like those are the guys who got the ball rolling in our genre. Just felt like they needed the acknowledgment. What you’re doing is also great mybru, not everyone is covering our genre’s content and history like this. We appreciate it 🙏🏼
I feel like a " Part 2" for a video like this would be much needed. difficult to put together. but for the culture I'll try. thanks for contributing to the video 🙏🏼

When you give it a term like..."SA" or "Afrikaans" hiphop...it doesn't feel real
can you explain why it doesn't feel real ?

Young schola is the best rapper for me in cape Town just my opinion
I can respect that, i remember the back and forth between him and Kulture Gang.
And afrikaans music is not only in Cape town bro so next time you must "Kyk uit"
