This is a design flaw. Over time the tank will crack from this. Mine's did. Now I have to contact gaggia to see if they'll send me a replacement. I'm sure they'll probably try to charge me for it.

The front of the water tank broke off my machine as well, it's definitely a faulty design.

Lubricating helped, but it's after the front cover broke off. Terrible design flaw to separate the front cover from the tank this way :/ Only real long-term solution is to glue the front cover to the tank for good. Not gonna pick up another Gaggia product again. I'd rather have a Jura and not have to deal with this plastic nonsense.

Lubricating the back ring didn't help us. The problem we have found is that the water tank has been machined too big for the aperture. You know this because over time scratch marks develop on the sides of the water tank. This suggests to me that machines with tight water tanks have been badly designed. The tanks need to be made fractionally smaller.

I would appreciate if you would answer my question please. I frequently descale my brera every 45 days. I noticed that increasing the frequency of descaling leads to more hot coffee brewing temperature and Also the volume of espresso. Anyhow my question is instead of using cleaning tablets in the scoop chute to degrease the coffee spout can I just run descaling solution from the water tank to the espresso spout. I do this by using the pre grind mode option with no coffee powder in the chamber. So one tank of descaling solution gives me 7 shots of descaling solution running through the spout which in the process degreases the coffee dispensing spouts.
