First Win in Seattle since 2016, 3-0 on the road, I know it's still early doors in the year but I'm loving what i'm seeing this year from the 'Caps!
1st red card: Definitely questionable. The replay was hard to get a clean look at it. 2nd red card: That’s how you break someone’s ankle, literally. Also, coming from a Whitecaps fan, Brian White might’ve gotten away with a straight red himself on that challenge. However, the referee must’ve seen it as he was just going after the rebound. That’s just my take.

Wasn't questionable at all. Def deserved.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying that it wasn’t yellow-card worthy, but for it to be a straight-red, that’s what’s questionable in my opinion. I guess you could say it was deserved because Gauld got tackled from behind as well.

Intentional, they never show alternative angles that might cast further doubt on a call.
Seattle is a dim shadow of its former self. Stuck in the past. Needs a complete overhaul starting with Schmetzer, which will sadly take years.
It's going to probably take more than sacking Schmetzer. Waibel and Hanauer aren't helping us either.

Part of the language to make an offense worthy of a red card is "Clear and obvious"... Something having to do with the fact that it took almost 5 minutes after play was stopped to determine that it was a red card does not scream Clear and Obvious to me. I do not disagree that it was a foul or that it was worthy of a yellow, but a bit harsh? yes

Not because of the actions of the player, but because the Referees took almost 5 minutes to determine a correct punishment? That it's harsh because of the time it took to get a proper decision???
"Clear and Obvious" doesn't supersede "Serious Foul Play". Furthermore, I think you don't have a proper understanding of what "Clear and Obvious" is defined as in terms of Video Review for the sport. It simply means not all the referees in the match agree with the on-field decision.

@@stansmith5610 nah the referee's brain went smooth and overturned a soft yellow into one of the worst straight reds I've seen, and made the sounders play with 10 men for 45+ minutes. The decision took five whole minutes when it's supposed to be clear and obvious. At least he wasn't wrong on both reds tho that was Roldan's fault.

Yep. Some don't like it, others do. Personally I don't really care, though it reminds me of the NHL.
They did it for the last Women's World Cup and I guess that will carry over into MLS for now.

Dude on Vancouver slid to his left to block the ball after it took a weird touch and Alex was already lunging for the ball. Red card yes but not suspension worthy.
There were 4 late fouls by Seattle all before the 1st red card. They were playing dirty from the start and the 2nd red card was the pinnacle of their flagrant game plan. I saw someone compare the Brian White yellow card but that wasn't flagrant or reckless, he avoided and even lifted back up to avoid again, that was barely a yellow. Seattle was going in hard on key players after they knew they were beat. Respect to the whitecaps for not running up 5 goals on them after all that disrespect.
Roldan should get a longer suspension and a fine for that, good lord. Talk about endangering the safety of a player, looked like he was trying to cleat him as hard as possible
