I don’t know if anyone else speaks Arabic, but her the song, one of the verses was “take me to my country” and she sang it with such pain and longing it brought tears to my eyes

As I’m a French-Canadian ethnically, my parents helped me learn French at home, and believe it or not, TRUE “Castilian,” as MANY Cubans, Argentinians, Venezuelans and some Columbians speak is BEAUTIFUL. So much optimism coming from her during the interview. A level-headed teenager who knows what's going on in their lives but avoids being dramatic about it. I don't know if she wore the boots because she prefers country music, but I understand why they're a great footwear for this performance. When I close my eyes, I feel like I'm listening both to Kelsea Ballerini and Danielle Bradberry. If she leans towards pop, I can also hear the sound of Carly Rae Jepsen in her voice. Either way, I wish her and her family success and more blessings in life!

You know, if she went from Syriac/Arabic to Dutch in 2.5 years, if she put her mind to it, she could be completely fluent in English by this time next week.
This made me cackle first thing in the morning. You are so right, if she can speak Dutch fluently like that in such a short amt of time English is a piece of cake.
She sure knows English, she was slipping words into the Dutch conversations...
As moroccan when you want to continue your studies in Germany we go from 0 to B2 or C1 level in one year. It's not that hard btw I began my journey too
And this applies to all the north African I think
English is one of the hardest languages to learn especially for people from foreign countries.

Omg I felt both her audition song and especially the arabic one. It is indeed a sweet and pure performance. Her singing has vulnerability and essense of someone yearning for hope and being better as people. Esp her coming from Syria adds so much more, too

We have onbe very loving Syrian in the Philippines and though our country is very poor economically, he prospered and is a very generous person to so many Filipinos. Syrians are decent people, they are hard workers, talented and educated. They are not refugees because they want to and because they used to live in a dump, they are refugees because there is a civil war that lasted for more than a decade. I met someone through a dating app and I really felt sorry for him. He was also a Syrian refugee and now lives in Turkey as a farmer. He told me about his life, his family was like an average-wealthy kind of family but when the war broke out, they immediately fled to an evacuation area for refugees with nothing, empty handed because they were so afraid. Then he said that his family was then sent to Turkey and they live life now as farmers (he did not even expected this to happen). He said it was really hard communicating with the people there because they do not speak the language (we only understand each other because this dating app automatically translate the message to the language we know).
I just remember him while watching this. May peace be given to Syria soon♥️
I am Syrian and have sought refuge in Germany, but the road was too rough for me and my family. We nearly lost each other and didn't have phones. We met again by a miracle, after being lost for two days.
I remember how I met my mother again, who was sitting on the ground with my sister..how she was crying ... she thought we were parted forever ..
I speak 3 languages, myself and my family. So we were able to get help.
In Turkey, it is very difficult to find someone who speaks English or a second language
