Top-flight analysis! As an owner of a Prius plug-in and a Hybrid Corolla, I can vouch for Toyota's legendary reliability and efficiency. Last year I did a roundtrip California to Florida drive in my Hybrid Corolla and averaged an amazing 58mpg. The car was totally comfortable; I never got tired of seating in the seats. Highly recommend any hybrid from Toyota!

that's because Toyota got the most patterns in making hybrid cars

We looked long and hard at this segment. Of all the cars we looked at, we picked the Honda Insight as our fav. It was the most conventional car, had surprisingly good acceleration for a Hybrid, excellent handling and it was low on the "Prius/Ioniq Goofiness Scale".

Great review! I'd probably buy a Corolla Hybrid for my wife if she needed a new car this year.

Here in Texas, the Insight is not under $30,000. One dealer priced it $2000 over MSRP, added non-negotiable items like paint protection, wheel locks, tinting, and mats to the tune of at least $1400. Most dealerships will not sell the car without those item add ons. My out the door price when all was said and done was $38K. I did not buy the car. Also, Insights sell very quickly, and not many are currently in production. They are an expensive, hot ticket item. I wish I could find a 2022 Insight for $30K.

Wanted to get a Corolla Hybrid. Just couldn't settle with the thought of a hatchback being a little more convenient sometimes, but at the same time often their rear seats having less space... Had a headache trying to choose..
Untill I saw that the Corolla Cross Hybrid is only about 4k more expensive.
Seemed to be a perfect size and combines the best pros of sedans and hatchbacks.
So I'm definitely going for this one!
(Fuel Economy is about 4.3 L/100km, which is mind-blowing)

Love my 2011 Fusion Hybrid. 150k miles and still rides very smooth. Good pickup, good looking car and great on gas. Strong battery allows a comfy city cruise between 30-40mph on ev mode. It's an older car though so when it goes ill be in the market for a new one. I paid 8k for my Fusion 😩😩😩 Def won't be getting that deal again

About the CT200h… it has the 3rd gen hybrid system instead of 4th of the current (2017 and up) system. That’s the reason I bought my Prius instead of CT in 2017

Thank you great information. I might need a car soon and was thinking about a Hyundai Sonata, however a new owner just bought the dealership in my area and has not had great reviews. So if I have to go out of town I'm thinking about the Honda Accord, I now drive a 2004 Cadillac DeVille that I really like but will not be buying another Cadillac and wondered which would be a close feel.

Between $20-25,000 CAD ( Willowdale), what used ( or new) could I choose. Are any hybrids (sedans) fun to drive - i don't think lexus can be this price ?
I have driven Civic 2019 touring; not the 2018 sport touring. It would seem the hybrids are best for city drives and 6,000 km per year.

    • @carhelpcorner
      @carhelpcorner  2 года назад +2

For your budget and driving amount, I would just buy a new Toyota Corolla. Forget used. The prices are overinflated right now and you can buy a new car for almost the same price. You don't need a hybrid if you drive only 6,000km per year. A regular Corolla LE would work fine.

I have the 2019 touring model, it's efficient, reliable, comfortable, good trunk space, and has good tech. It is not a sports car, but will cruise along fine. It is also getting refreshed. I think I should have went for the PHEV which has a stronger motor for more EV range.

I've been looking for two months for a hybrid. Good luck getting a car. And forget getting it under $30,000 out the door. I'll just stick with my Taurus until the tires fall off. I've never seriously looked at buying a new car. I never want to do it again. It's one of the worst experiences I've ever had. The Toyota dealer called me today. "A car is being shipped from Japan today. Only one left. Need $1,000 down no refund." It'll be gone tomorrow!

You must really like Japanese cars. They are good but I don't know if that good. I allways preferred Chevrolets. They worked for me although, they had or have Japanese engines like my Saturn Vue. If you don't add or discuss American cars much one might think you are getting a kick back.
