    Sir, how can the refrigerant temperature at point 1 and point 4 be the same? Refrigerant must have done some heat exchanged with water before leaving the evaporator... plz reply

    • @chriswwheatley

      It has picked up energy (enthalpy increase) but the temperature will not increase until phase change is complete

    I have a question-
    How does Condenser Water at 27C absorb heat from Chilled Water Inlet at 12C to cool it down at 6C ?
    Shouldn't the Condenser water temperature be less than Chilled water temperature for heat rejection to happen ?

    • @abdulahadsm7710
      @abdulahadsm7710 8 месяцев назад

      Condenser water doesn't absorb heat from the chilled water. It's a complete cycle of heat exchange. You should watch previous videos.
      So what happen here is that refrigerant gas heats up when it passes thorough compressor to the condenser, this I where condenser water exchange heat from hot refrigerant gas. Then this gas condenses into liquid where it goes into the evaporator where it absorb heats of building to reach vapor form that saturated vapor form of gas then enters to compressor to further heat up and repeat the cycle.

    I was wondering if you could explain why the refigerant temp doesn't increase from 4 -> 1.. Shouldn't it be rising if it's picking up heat from the return water? I see the enthalpy rising like I would expect there.. I'm guessing there's a physics explanation I'm missing. Thanks and thank you for all these videos.

    • @EngineeringMindset

      The refrigerant undergoes a phase change, during this time all the energy absorbed goes into the enthalpy and entropy to break the atomic bonds, there is no temperature change as this occurs. If more heat is added after the phase change then it will increase

    • @xKNIGHTRYD3Rx
      @xKNIGHTRYD3Rx Год назад

      I still think temperature increase should occur between 4 > 1, for proper function of the system, the vapour that exits the evaporator is considered super heated (temperature added above boiling point of the refrigerant) to ensure all liquid refrigerant is evaporated and no liquid enters the compressor. If it remained at phase change temperature (boiling point) after exiting the evaporator there would be a mix of liquid and vapour entering the compressor. Usually the phase change is completed half way into the evaporator coil and by the time it leaves the evaporator it is slightly heated a few degrees higher as complete vapour.

    • @Cabe_8623
      @Cabe_8623 Год назад

      @@xKNIGHTRYD3Rx this video is theory and how should it be. ALL energy absorbed from the chilled water is FIRST destined to the phase change,, only when the phse change is over, it may pick up some energy to rise the temperature of the refrigerant. For instance, if you are running low in refrigerant, the phase change may be completed in an early stage in the evaporator, and then you would have some rise in temperature in the last stage of the heat exchanger .

    • @xKNIGHTRYD3Rx
      @xKNIGHTRYD3Rx Год назад

      @@Cabe_8623 Understand, and I acknowledge the process of the phase change occurring first, even if we’re only talking about theory it is important to note that this phase change is completed and temp rise most likely does occur theoretically as well. Systems aren’t designed on a low refrigerant scenario only to ensure this occurs

    The delta T in the evaporator is 6-5.5 = 0.5 degrees and in the condenser the delta T is 35-29= 6 degrees can you explain the difference please
