true. 1st dubstep Id ever heard was Caspa/Rusko Fabriclive mix, been hooked ever since, no matter what, all phases, the pioneers, the brostep, drumstep, hardstep, festival trapstep, I fuk with it all..but its gotten repetitive, early dub is best.
Yep.. Skream-superfly is a good example of Dubstep being alot faster than many people think..He puts a 4/4 beat in the track about 20 seconds or so from the end..You can count the beats or even just hear that its about 135/140 bpm..You can count a four beat over this,or any, dubstep track and see its at about the same pace as trance etc..
Dude music doesn't disappear, just because a certain type isn't mainstream anymore doesn't mean its gone. I'm sure there would still be bands out there that write and play disco tunes for example...
Holy shit. This was the first dubstep song I ever listened to. Long before I knew what electronic music even was. Ive searched every once in a while and never been able to find it all I could remember was SpongeBob. So much nostalgia
For me, In the top 10 greatest dubstep songs of all time. Shame really that the genre escalated into brostep because don't get me wrong I like brostep, but when I listen to something like knife party or skrillex I sometimes just think 'can't music be a little more chilled AND hard hitting? Rather than the fast paced glitchy music that comes mostly from the genre now... Pure filth but at the same time this track is not 'in your face'
If you want hard-hitting but still a bit not completely in your face modern dubstep you should definitely check out Coffi, 50 Carrot, Detzky, also check out Culprate's albums Flatline and Colours he has this amazing mix of IDM and Dubstep
one day 5 years ago I heard this track, I was like WTF?!?!?!?!?! I have loved dubstep ever since. big up Coki for makin this bangin track that led me into a bass addiction!
ello blazers nfkrz here, lmfao funny seeing you here while I was looking at older dubstep tunes, been watching you since the leafy days, you prob won't see this but
Dubstep was created in about 1998 - Skrillex was like, 10 years old. He didn't even start producing EDM until the year of 2010; dubstep was already quite popular before somebody labelled Skrillex as dubstep, which killed the real dubstep scene
Why would someone hate on Skrillex? I mean, as much as I love the old dubstep sound with the sub-basses and everything. The new shit is amazing too. Skrillex has some good tracks and the only reason I see why someone would hate him within the Dubstep community is because he has a lot of recognition and is pretty famous.
UK peeps be forgetin' us Americans Invented Electronic music as a whole in the early 80s and house music in the mid 70's so excuse us for are tunes being a little Housey' lol
I think this was probably one of the first dubstep tracks I heard , then a grand search of everything dubstep , I wouldnt have got into dubstep hadnt it been for my love of roots dub and techno
Spongebob Squarepants, Patrick Star, Sandy Cheeks, Squidward Tenticles, Plankton, Mr. Krabs, Pearl, Gary, Mrs. Puff, Larry the Lobster, Mermaid Man, Barnacle Boy, Fred the guy who yells "MY LEG!", Karen the Computer Wife, Squilliam Fancyson, Perch Perkins, Old Man Jenkins, Janet, Marty, DoodleBob, Manray and the Dirty Bubble. You can't FUCK WITH THAT!
Fun Fact: The bassline used in this tune is actually a sample of spongebob laughing, pitched down and heavily modulated.
Has it really been 15 years? Such a classic!
I love the fact that he named one of his biggest song "spongebob"
I love the fact that the base is a pitched down version of SpongeBob's laugh.
he also got one named robotnik, produced around the same time as spongebob. it's great!

As an american, I agree. But there might be some underground Amercian made dubstep out there. A digging would be necessary.

Absolute original dubstep banger!
It's called spongebob because the sample bass is spongebobs laugh. Hear the wobble closely in the beginning of the song.

Fucking awesome, knowing this is one giant Resample of Spongebob's laugh :D xD

still one of the hardest tunes around
Why would someone hate on Skrillex? I mean, as much as I love the old dubstep sound with the sub-basses and everything. The new shit is amazing too. Skrillex has some good tracks and the only reason I see why someone would hate him within the Dubstep community is because he has a lot of recognition and is pretty famous.

Coki is the original dubstep G!!!!!
Spongebob Squarepants, Patrick Star, Sandy Cheeks, Squidward Tenticles, Plankton, Mr. Krabs, Pearl, Gary, Mrs. Puff, Larry the Lobster, Mermaid Man, Barnacle Boy, Fred the guy who yells "MY LEG!", Karen the Computer Wife, Squilliam Fancyson, Perch Perkins, Old Man Jenkins, Janet, Marty, DoodleBob, Manray and the Dirty Bubble.
