- I FINALLY got test ride Indian Motorcycles new 2023 Indian Sport Chief! There are a few test ride videos out there but but in this I decided to compare the feeling of the ride and the quality to my Indian Scout Bobber. Is it enough for me to make the switch? Watch my test ride and short review till the end to see if I personally will make that decision.

Wow that was close! I always park in gear, never neutral. Sometimes you don't notice the slight slope you've parked on. Why not protect yourself by simply parking in gear.
Good on ya! And I agree with you. Thank for watching!
That is a great looking bike. Definite competitor to the Low Rider S.
I always park my bike in gear except when I am parked in the garage at home.
It’s good to see Indian gaining more popularity, hopefully they go from strength to strength.
I park in gear everywhere, except in my own garage.
Someone else said the same thing. Thanks for watching
Only time my bike is parked in neutral is in the garage. That dude was a noob.😂😂😂
What a great video Ricky! I enjoyed it a lot!
Thanks man! It's still an honor to me that you watch my vids. Cheers!
@@RickyBobber I’m honored, that you’re honored! 😂😂
I'm honored that you're honored that I'm honored 😆
Stage 2 makes a world of difference!
Good point
Yes
i dont know if you'll see this but i watched your video on the scout bobber being a good beginner bike and im sold on it. it's super clean looking and my buddy rides a Harley so i can't wait to fuck with him all the time. im going to check one out this friday.
Nice!! Hey thanks for reaching out. I can give you a 500 off a new Indian Motorcycle. As an ambassador I have a few to give a away. Message me on Instagram if you have one I'm @Rickybobber_
@@RickyBobber ok, sounds like a plan! Thanks brother!
Hey brother, check you Instagram DM need your address please
In gear when parked.... 👍 Nice video brotha. 👊
Team park in gear. Thanks my dude.
I park in neutral most of the time.. But I pay attention to the slope of where I park it, and will put it in gear if on a hill.
Glad you were able to finally get on the Sport Chief! If I were to ever trade in mt scout, it'd be for this or the FTR.
Oh man. I tried the FTR again. Can't do the foot controls behind me
I own both, the FTR is great for canyon carving & commuting, the Sport Chief is great for relaxing weekend getaways with the wifey. The FTR definitely isn't built for long distance comfort, but up to 2 hours is manageable for this old man's knees lol.
That Springfield exhaust sounds juicy! Wow! I parked my bobber in neutral once then my bike ended up on the ground.
Right?! I wanted to try it but that was the last run of the weekend
Better than a Harley and you don’t have to worry about having a dealership every 30 miles in case you break down.
Always park in gear. But he's right, it shouldn't have started. Something similar happened to my 2022 Nighster. Always hold the clutch in now.
I think he had the clutch in, allowing it to start. Then he let go, the bike started to go then stalled
I demoed the sport chief and ya that sucker got some pull to it lol the only downside I felt was it got so hot so fast anytime you catch a light your legs is burning up!!!! I’ll stay with my scout bobber for now, And I could see leaving it in neutral at demos but I always park mine in first
We got spoiled with that liquid cooled Scout Bobber. Thanks for watching, man🤙🏼
Always park in gear. It shouldn't start with the kick stand down though
Demo days coming next month, I'm interested in riding this one. I just purchased my 2023 Bobber and already started customizing it. My wife would kill me with a same year trade in.... lol. I doubt if I'll ever get rid of the bobber, this might have to be a second bike for longer trips.
Depends on how I park it, for sure though I've never released a clutch while NOT mounted & knowing fully whether or not a motorcycle is in gear...what a noob.
Ima need to hit you up for one of those gift cards for my next bike! Almost made the move but holding off one more year *. Patiently waiting on sissy bar to help on those longer trips
I actually might be out. But if you're waiting a year, ask me in 2024 cause we get new ones each year. If I'm still an ambassador next year
Mostly I go real close to the curb (or whatever is there to park at), then I cut my trike hard, then bottom out the front suspension with my brakes, and keeping the clutch in, the suspension rebound gives enough force to push me backwards while steering into the parking spot. Then I end up parking in whatever gear I approached in, usuallyfirst gear⚙️...
The last resort is using my reverse gear.

Park it in gear all the time, and it won't start in gear, i own a Scout though maybe chief is different, but I doubt it
It's starts in gear if you pull the clutch in. He had the clutch in for a second
What a beaut of a bike! If only I had the money...
I always park my bike in gear. My bike won't start unless the clutch lever is pulled and the kickstand is up. If I try to start it otherwise, the "check" notification comes up.
Yeah. I like that some bikes have that kickstand feature. This guy had the clutch in to start it, then let go.
@@RickyBobber His fault entirely. Besides, it not like some kind of notification showing which gear it's in ISN'T showing. He straight up wasn't paying enough attention.
The only real downside to my bike is the transmission is temperamental in anything under 55º. The gears sometimes hang or get caught up in neutral when going from 1st to 2nd. The bike is a 2015 Suzuki V-Strom 650. It's a damn great bike despite that annoying quirk.
Interesting
@@RickyBobber The downside to living in Yankee territory. :P We don't have that year-round warm or hot weather like SoCal. I do miss living in the SGV. I just don't miss what the entire I-5 corridor has become.
Would you prefer this or the lowrider s?
I've never riden the Lowrider S but I'm an Indian Motorcycle Guy. I personally like Indian Motorcycles. You pull up to a motorcycle event and 95% of the bikes are all the same. It's just more exciting to see another Indian Motorcycle out in the wild. I also believe you get more for your money with Indian Motorcyles
$500 off on a new bike?!?!?! what?!?!. It depends on if i leave my bike in gear. majority of the time i don't.
Yeah! Us ambassadors get a few of those to give out.
Neutral. Believe it even says to do that in the manual.
Interesting. I'd like to see what it says
Is the Sport Chief worth the extra 6K?
Honestly I like my Scout I personally don't know I'd I'd pay 6k more for this. But if I didn't have anything I would consider it.
It's crazy to me that they allow someone to demo ride in a t-shirt.
You sign a waiver. It says they'll cover the bike should anything happen but not any personal injuries
I'm sorry, but who doesn't either pull in the clutch to start a bike OR make sure the bike is in neutral 🤔🤷♂️ I'm sure the blame was placed elsewhere because of embarrassment, but still... 🤦♂️
Ha! Right? That's the first page of the Motorcycle handbook probs.
I live in a flat ass part of Texas…what’s a hill? lol…I park in neutral 😬
Bahaha. Sorry man
always in gear when parked.
That motor is not bigger than the low rider s and they don’t charge you for abs and traction control. My 2023 low rider s was $18,199 and has a 117ci motor and abs and traction control.
Look it up. You can buy it without
It seems like he blames you to divert attention from him making a mistake.
Sport chief.
I park in neutral, but I think I'm in the minority.
Thanks for watching. Let's get a poll going.
same ... but then again I rarely park on a hill.
I used to park in neutral until my friend pranked me by moving my bike to another spot lol, now I always leave it in first
I park in neutral unless on on an incline. And negative in the Apple CarPlay. It’s only for the 7” display.
@@2warhammer34 really? I got that from the specs on the website
Dude I park my Fiesta ST and the dirt bike in gear. 🤷🏻♂️
As you should! Thanks for watching, budski
Always in gear. Must have been a newbie. Always clutch in when starting. Never star a bike without pressing the clutch in. Old School.
Of course you park it gear!!! Otherwise it will roll away… seriously people park in Neutral???
Thank you!! 👆🏼 listen to him.. I trust him with anything motorcycle. I appreciate you Brian
Always park in gear.
I agree
Mine always in gear, that’s a noob, you must know the state of any bike, in gear or no gear.
Idiot should have checked the bike was in Neutral before pressing the start button. I always leave my bike in gear when parked up …
