My dad's and me are locals to Clevedon and Kura u can see our farm Brooklands estate & boat club from the top my dad just passed but he used to make us run up camp sladdin every day lol 😆 And then he would smash it up and down in 15 mins he was 66 when he was running The track used to be just mud and the camp would make the kids go up the mountain in the mud so the steps are new funny thing was I found this vid and all week been talking about camp sladdin and the hakimatas and then just before I found this vid I found a pic of my kids when we come over from Aussie from this exact day last year I found a pic and vid of them running up sladdin lol 😆 Mean as I miss home heaps ❤
Hahahaha you guys are crack up! I can relate to you and I'm from the southside 🎉🎉🎉 you should go to the waterfall in the karangahaki gorge.. on the way to Waihi. There's a DOC campsite there.. Follow the road around the cliffs and turn off to the right where you see the sign to a camp.. drive over the bridge and park on the right hand side just after the bridge or in the carpark on the left. Just infront of the bridge walk up a bit until you see a path.. and walk down the path into the bush it's a really deep trench and big waterfall below..heaps of walks too and if you keep driving along that road up the hill and around and turn right at the doc camp sign🌊 you come to an open area at the bottom you can pitch a tent or sleep in car or day trip there's a nice calm swimming spot past the toilets.. otherwise go for a walk into the trees back by the gravel carpark into the field..walk to the end.. you will see a bridge ..walk across it and follow it to the left you end up in an old mining tunnel.take a torch or two you walk all the way through.. there are glow worms when you come out the end you are about two minutes from the waterfall and deep water that I first mentioned. An old quarry. Get there before it gets too cold it's worth it take some doughnut floaty rings 😊 it's the meanest place ❤ 🌊 🍩 🥇
