Whoa Nelley, 1960 and gotta go. Rare, rare, rare, rare (at least today). That dealer tag says "Weyel Motors" and they were located at 420 North Austin Street in Seguin, TX. They were a Studebaker dealer from about 1949 to at least 1962 and later on it became Weyel Buick-Jeep. Today it's a used clothing shop. Some parts of the building and lettering still remain as when it was a Studebaker dealer.
We got the VIN, we win: 60 for 1960 model year, S for 170 CID six cylinder engine and the rest is the production sequence. We got the tag, we can brag: 60 for 1960 model year, S for 170 CID six cylinder engine, W4 for Lark Deluxe four door sedan, possible 522 for Blue interior trim and possible 6011 for White Sand exterior paint (which was been painted over to a dark blue at one point). Correct with regard to automotive production, but Studebaker carried on in other industries and owned STP for a time as well as Paxton superchargers, among other industries. Their main facility (where this one was likely made) was at 635 S. Lafayette Blvd., South Bend, IN. It now houses a bunch of businesses including a gym and a newspaper. This was a stodgy looking car, something your reliable Uncle Al would drive, and he had a predictable life. He went to work, went bowling, played cards with Aunt Marge, and they led a simple and ordinary life. That was the typical Studebaker customer of the early 1960s.
Whoa Nelley, the Lark will soon go dark. Stude will get crushed and that's just rude. That's it, time to quit. Painted White Sand and ready for the trash can. Going to be flat and that's that. Benny got a deal on some wheels. Going to get squished and all of the independent faithful, many here, maybe Benny and slightly so for the Google Man are all going to be pissed.

Adventures made from Scratch had purchased a entire Studebaker junk yard in Kansas. Then Auto parts city in Illinois just sold a Studebaker station wagon to someone in Wisconsin. Lots of Studebakers out there.❤

Nice find! My Dad had a 1960 Lark VI two door three speed in tan with brownish interior. It was a good little car and the one that he let me sit on his lap and steer when we were going home and got to the little back road we lived on. He traded it in on a new Ruby Red '67 VW Beetle that I still have, but has not moved from the barn since 1995.

Old Stude, wow too bad. She needs saved, not many around. Autolite factory in the 1960's was on Upton Ave in Toledo, Ohio. I had Family working there at that time. Thank you for the video!

Studebaker corporation didn’t actually go out of business. They stopped making cars but continued to make profits in other lines of business including financing and air compressors. They existed for a couple of decades until the name went away after several mergers.

Those Appliance wheels were called "Steel Spoke". When I was a kid, I wanted a set of Appliance wire wheels for my '65 Riviera, and I wanted 'em bad. But they were a bunch more money than a 16 year old could afford back then, so I went with Astro Supremes instead. They looked great, but I could never keep the lug nuts tight on them.

I had a light blue one like that , 259 v8 and a 3 on the tree. It ran great but the linkage jammed alot when shifting. Think i paid $300 in the 90s for it. Then . I also had a 1960 wagon and then later a 66 Cruiser made in canada with a chevy 283 in it.

A little outdated even at that time, but Studebaker was an independent with a small budget just like “All Makes Combined” (AMC).
