I am 7th grade flute player, and I just love this song so much other than every song I ever played! The sound is so beautiful, and the parts that gets faster, I really love that part. I love the feeling of mysterious, tension that this song give.
If you listen closely, I feel like there is one flute that is trying WAY to hard to vibrato. It sort of sticks out. It'ts very minor, but it is somewhat noticeable. Other than that, it's great!
DayQDaniel2011 As a band director, I believe that the slight vibrato helped to I prove the musicality and add more depth into the music. It gives it that more mysterious feel.
Oh I wish the trombones in our band played that good they can barely get out a note poor them and my section the trumpets are the loudest out of all of the band and I'm the only girl! But for our spring concert we are playing this and we sound almost like this!!! XD
I hate how my band plays this song and it sounds soo bad but I play this song at home and it sounds perfectly fine........ My school band needs some work
For our band, it is some of low brass, saxophones, and bass clarinet. I don't know if they even practice, but they can't just help us have perfect song for once.
@@potato_head0103 That sounds like a handful. But on a good note the trumpets have gotten a little better so the song doesn’t sound like trash anymore. Now it’s just the wood winds (specifically the flutes and saxophones) that need to fix there sound
I'm in 7th grade and even though the band I'm in sounds so beautiful whilst playing it, we just can't seem to get the hang of when it gets pretty fast. (Especially in the flute section, trust me; I'm struggling.) I'm going to practice this over the weekend and try and get the hang of it.
As a tenor sax, I literally love this piece. playing with low brass/woodwinds is always a treat. I did this piece two weeks ago for band camp. Was super fun(I was 1st chair in the advanced section ayyyy)
Our band did this for district concert competition sightreading this year. Needless to say, being a drummer was a good choice when we came to this song! Fun and exciting song, thanks for your upload!
just played this one as timpani for a concert (mr. swearingen was there and it scared me because i didnt know he was going to be there until the day of the concert lmao)
We’re playing this song for our lgpe concert. We just started work on this today in band, i play the french horn and this song is very exciting to play! Looking forward
omg am i the only one who loved this song when they played it but never got to actually perform it in front of people bc of corona but wish they got to bc now they keep on coming back to it like YES I LOVE THIS SONG
omgg im an 8th grade flute and can i just say this sounds almost nothing like how our band played it 😭 they always miss the dynamics and the staccato notes and its infuriating, but we did decent.
I’m a baritone… the only baritone so I have to be super loud bc there is like 70 of us and me got a performance next Wednesday, MY LIPS ALWAYS HURT TO THIS SONG 😭😂
My middle school band is doing this song, a song called in the mood, one called aftershock, a mix of two Beethoven songs, and the impossible theme. I play mellphone
You have a point darkzone, but remember that we have a lot more sax players throughout both grades. From what I heard, the trumpets are kind of like the main instrument at an extant. Also, don't forget about the majority of the pitches (mostly piano/some forte).
So, playing this in my school concert band and all the saxophones are super quiet. But maybe it's because everyone else in our period are not saxophone players... but then again, same goes for the whole band. :/
Played the Toms on this, only if it could be a bit louder. Mainly since I could hear my self very well and barely in this, I probably sounded that soft from the audiences perspective though.
“Play it like your in a firing range!” Me in the band when the drummers at the beginning didn’t play loud enough, also I played tambourine only I might be lucky
I also have first trombone on this song but I've been playing for a few years so its easy for me. However the trombone part for "groovin' high" goes really high. It goes up to the f that is over 2 notches above the staff. And the f is a 16th note at the tempo 150. Its a jazz song that I am playing for a band audition.

thats... such an odd nitpick, I had to attempt to hear that vibrato, otherwise its good though.
Sadenjaro Lol.
Sorry. I am just really picky about intonation and not sticking out. :3
DayQDaniel2011 ALSO SOMEWHERE AT THE END I FORGOT WHAT MEASURE THEY BREATHED WHEN THEY SHOULDNT HAVE
DayQDaniel2011 As a band director, I believe that the slight vibrato helped to I prove the musicality and add more depth into the music. It gives it that more mysterious feel.
yeait is a bit difficult not to notice

Whispering Wind omfgggg yess mines too they be blasting and playing wrong flipping notes
I hate how my band plays this song and it sounds soo bad but I play this song at home and it sounds perfectly fine........ My school band needs some work
Same.
For me, the low brass, woodwinds, and percussion sound amazing. It’s literally just the trumpets that ruin the whole song

My school band played this song, but we have a pair of concert toms, which just makes the song so much better
I play this song currently on concert toms as well, at measure 12 till the end it is very very intense, and at 79, this song is lit.
This was played today at my graduation ceremony!

just played this one as timpani for a concert (mr. swearingen was there and it scared me because i didnt know he was going to be there until the day of the concert lmao)
I played this 2 years ago in band. For a band with 7th and 8th graders, we were really good. I especially like the intro.
their dynamics and accents are exactly the way it should be (first chair tuba)
I played this in band… oh it looks like 284738197 people beat me to it
BigRedProductions11 ikr
We’re playing this song for our lgpe concert. We just started work on this today in band, i play the french horn and this song is very exciting to play! Looking forward

You have a point darkzone, but remember that we have a lot more sax players throughout both grades. From what I heard, the trumpets are kind of like the main instrument at an extant. Also, don't forget about the majority of the pitches (mostly piano/some forte).
Anyone have a link for this song in sheet music for the trumpet? Please share with me!

So, playing this in my school concert band and all the saxophones are super quiet. But maybe it's because everyone else in our period are not saxophone players... but then again, same goes for the whole band. :/
Where the flutes at
Our band plays this song right now and we can never hear the flutes
Bartholomew my band too
Its sad that you cant hear the flutes tho. We have a beautiful part
Okay this is lit
The marching band I'm in is doing a song called out of the darkness so we are basically beyond the darkness but are trying to get out of the darkness
I play the Tom Toms and it's really fun.
I wish our band could sound this spectacular. We have like, ten saxophones but only one french horn. Me
Hey, I’m a freshman now and definitely have more faith in our band in regards to this song not
Played the Toms on this, only if it could be a bit louder. Mainly since I could hear my self very well and barely in this, I probably sounded that soft from the audiences perspective though.
why does trumpet always have to make the trombone section look bad
I play 2nd Trombone for this
I'm learning to play this song and I play second clarinet and believe it or not but I got it on my first try
Wizard Marvin I'm playing first clarinet and I nailed the first time too!

My class has just started learning how to play this and i tell you as percussionist/drummer it is hard to keep that steady tempo/beat
Our bands playing this

If only the trumpets in my band class stepped up.
I can barely hear them compared to this recording.
fggt
short note is so funny
I play Trombone
“Play it like your in a firing range!” Me in the band when the drummers at the beginning didn’t play loud enough, also I played tambourine only I might be lucky

CosmicFire -wifi battles shiny updates my best friend
I do bass drum
i’ve been practicing this a lot (i play trumpet) but i’m still bad
I have first trombone. It is slight difficult to play high note
My friend plays trombone

For a high school jazz band audition
You should practice more on high notes in order to be able to play with ease and a good tone
Also if you open up your mouth and keep the embouchure tight, then the notes should come out. I also played first trombone for this song
ha ha bongo go brrrrrrrr
Alguém tem o arranjo dessa música?

I like how the Bass Guitars aren't even heard. I'm offended
