100% agree with your assessment ... I've recently bought a top trim X-Trail e-Power. During the initial test driving of the vehicle I was focused more on the driving dynamics. After purchase, and having more time to spend with the vehicle and the sound system, I have to say that the so-called 'Premium' sound system is a significant disappointment for me.
Good review - I agree 100%. I have just the X-Trail Tekna + (having traded an Audi Q5 with a premium B&O system) and the Nissan / Bose offering is anything but Premium. I love the X-Trail but I wouldn't buy another if they don't address this issue.
Good and accurate review - I have a Tekna trim model with the Bose system and it is underwhelming. With the Bose tag I expected much more. The experience is exactly as described here, all the audio is concentrated to the front of the vehicle - almost in your face. Bass is also a bit boring. Such a shame as I would. Great car otherwise.
I have to agree with the sound system, we have the 10 speaker but don't see the benefit due to the sound coming from the front in a V direction. It would be preferable that the speakers located in the second row doors could be made louder to help overcome this and balance the sound to all round.
You always can adjust Balance settings to "move" sound slightly to back row (as I did). That solved a little bit this situation. But to my opinion lower mid-range sound is just absent in X-TRail's Bose "Premium sound". Just switched to X-Trail from Peugeot 5008 with Focal Hi-Fi - and difference is just dissapointing...
I just bought a Nissan X-Trail two months ago with a BOSE 8 speaker system. In prolonged listening from several audio sources (radio, RUclips music, music from the phone via Bluetooth) the disappointment is great. Although the car is also equipped with a subwoofer, the sound quality is really bad, devoid of bass and in general - a big disappointment!
I have this car as well, with Bose system, I could say it's kind of OK for the price I paid. It was 600 euros for it, so not much, but it waaay better than the regular speakers. Also, in comparison with other manufacturers its one of the cheapest audio systems, e.g. rav4 ~1300 euros, skoda kodiaq ~1200 and so on.
Because it's easier to setup over wireless when doing the demos. Plus, you're never going to tell the difference between the two sources over the demo, in person, however, you will.

Great review...Can you share a pic or the location of the subwoofer for the 10 speaker Bose System?
@zaidmohammed1665 thanks! From memory, it would be in the boot, underfloor compartment.

Yup, that would have made things better and aided the system. Thanks for sharing!

@@RomanBoy100 Thanks for the tip.
Bose sound is worse than my old chevrolet orlando standard audio system...
So glad I saw this review. As an audiophile…. I expect a good sound system. Thank you for the warning!
No worries, glad you liked the review!
is this considered a good sound system? I'm thinking of either the x-trail of cx-5

Is this car good for listening to lossless music?
La versión de México suena increíble 😎 suena mejor que el harman kardon de mi camioneta
Ha!

as per usual with Bose branded car packages from Audi and on down, it is barely acceptable, tiring to listen to at volume. and muddy.
Have. the same car the sound is good for the average person it not a big budget I C E system.
Tekna Bose, very poor audio system, concentrated on the front window, no sound from the back 👎
💯👏🚘👍❤
why did you use bluethooth :D, its much better if you connect via USB
