As a New Zealander I listen to Chris Farmer most nights on RUclips singing cotton fields back home, also Mamas and the Papas California Dreaming, I think I have an addiction.
Surprised this song would be on the play list at all without Al singing -- although I like this guy enough and I guess it gives mike a break from the lead vocals.
They did the best with what they could. The Beach Boys were never a rock band like the Beatles, they never cared about disbanding young to preserve a mystique or legacy - the legacy was to always keep summer going, and while I don't like Mike Love for his artistry, business decisions or political views - he is the one who has kept the name of The Beach Boys active since their formation, which is crazy. It's over 60 years! Anyway, Chris Farmer was good here at least!
Chris Farmer. A blast from my Jan and dean past. Doesn't seem like The Beach Boys without a Wilson. Michael by himself is just, well, just Mike. P.S. Chris-your voice has matured wonderfully!
Wow! I just discovered this video when looking for this song and saw my ex-wife and I on the front row when the camera panned the audience at 1:45 ! This concert was on Wed., July 25, 2007. We went to Branson just to see The Beach Boys. Thanks for the good memories!
I don’t class this as beach boys! Traitor Mike Love don’t make the beach boys. Without Brian Wilson, Al Jardine David Marks it is a tribute band at best!
Mike Love, his ego and a group of studio musicians. Ironically, a few years ago I saw Brian, Al, and David. They had more "Beach Boys" on that stage, but were legally estopped from mentioning they were Beach Boys by the no talent, ego manic Mike.
I turned 14 the same month the BBs released their first single, Surfin'. I adored them and bought all their 45s with my meager allowance. This is not the Beach Boys. Mike Love has become an embarrassment.
Yes he's Great but I've saw John Cowsill Singing Cotten fields &, playing his Drums ! John Cowsill Voice Is Better
Al Jardine did the original lead vocals on Cotton Fields.
Wow mike looks great with that hat covering his bald head
wow what a lovely voice Chris farmer has
Mike Love and the pretenders.
As a New Zealander I listen to Chris Farmer most nights on RUclips singing cotton fields back home, also Mamas and the Papas California Dreaming, I think I have an addiction.
From America; May God Bless you Kiwis, now and forever...
Beach boys is a family band now
Surprised this song would be on the play list at all without Al singing -- although I like this guy enough and I guess it gives mike a break from the lead vocals.
Disappointing. No Al Jardine. No Wilsons . Who are these guys? There’s just no joy or spark!!
It's a really good cover band though imo. And I think the singer was great.
@@andygossard4293 nah. To me it's sooo slow.
After Carl died Mike wound up with the rights to the name. Mike and Bruce tour as the beach boys with a bunch of filler musicians.

There's so many kids there. That makes me so happy, my generation getting into the right kind of music
Chris Farmer. A blast from my Jan and dean past. Doesn't seem like The Beach Boys without a Wilson. Michael by himself is just, well, just Mike. P.S. Chris-your voice has matured wonderfully!
This is insulting to Al Jardine and Brian Wilson. Mike Love and Bruce Johnston performing as The Beach Boys ?? Bollocks to that
Beach boys version (lead belly) west visits south?😗😎😄
This is awesome. Brings my life back to the 60's. His voice is fanatastic piers through my heart.Than kyou.
From the RFDTV theater, Branson Mo. The year is 2007, the exact date is unknown.
Do you have the video of Christian Love doing Feel Flows from this show?
Wow! I just discovered this video when looking for this song and saw my ex-wife and I on the front row when the camera panned the audience at 1:45 ! This concert was on Wed., July 25, 2007. We went to Branson just to see The Beach Boys. Thanks for the good memories!
The lead is being sung by Chris Farmer. My wife grew up with him and his brothers an sister.
I don’t class this as beach boys! Traitor Mike Love don’t make the beach boys. Without Brian Wilson, Al Jardine David Marks it is a tribute band at best!
what happened to al jardine?
back home i have olive fields.. i'm Mediterranean boy..
Härliga BB, jag njuter !
He does a great job. Brilliant voice.
And back home we have oil fields
good Chris farmer
Prefer the original anyday!
Agreed, but it was a damn good attempt anyway. The guy even looked a bit like Brian Wilson in his younger days.
Kenne ich von Udo Jürgens. R.I.P. Udo
Carsten
Great performance but is it really the Beach Boys?
No it isn't
WHEN will Mike stop trying to dance? Terrific rendition ... I am afraid I can only do the oo&dah and doo wop now!
I love his voice!!! Never heard of him till I found this video!!!
Not sure why all the negative comments below. I thought it a very interesting take on this classic.
The greatest song of all time?
No
Chris Farmer.
Great
If there are no Wilson's on stage then it's not the Beach Boys......it's Mike, Bruce and their band....that's what they should be called.
you ae mistaken it's The Beach Boys because Mike and Bruce are member of the band but they just are not together so fuck you
Right on!
Mike is a cousin of the Wilsons. They were Okies during the Depression migration to California.
Patrick Jordan I agree with you, but Brian is the only Wilson left, I agree though that it's not the beach boys without Brian.
Mike Love, his ego and a group of studio musicians. Ironically, a few years ago I saw Brian, Al, and David. They had more "Beach Boys" on that stage, but were legally estopped from mentioning they were Beach Boys by the no talent, ego manic Mike.
Not hardly The Beach Boys
Great quality video I must say
This is a cover band that just happens to have Mike Love in it.
Love his voice, so wonderful in the ears.
A faultless performance but to me it is not The Beach Boys.
Fuck you
Do you know the date and location of this how? Thanks.
My ex-wife and I were there (we were in the shot of the audience at 1:45.) This show was at the RFD Theater in Branson, Mo., on Wed., July 25, 2007.
10!
Mi Amore❤❤❤❤❤
Sounds Fantastic! I love this song!
Chris!
Chris is superb here, what a voice! 👍❤️
Unfortunately, this is basically a tribute band.
Yankees can’t sing this
What year is this from?
BeachBoysfan4ever MLP 2007

Yee gads...that is horrendous!!! Truly HORRENDOUS!!!

rog

A TOTAL JOKE. EMBARRASSING.
너무 잘 하십니다 ㅡGOODㅡ
Can't we see a Glen Campbell version?
The year is 2007.
Nice version.
great job on this classic. but Mike Love looks very uncomfortable not being the lead dog.
Awesome!!!!!!
Great quality I must say
Greatest version ever.....
Guys.Guys. This is an embarrassment. Truly. Those harmonies and the mix there of...woe full.
Right--- no Wilsons NO No No not the Beach boys
horrible.
Great song, best rendition of this song....
I turned 14 the same month the BBs released their first single, Surfin'. I adored them and bought all their 45s with my meager allowance. This is not the Beach Boys. Mike Love has become an embarrassment.
Vackert !
Sorry, but terrible version. Compare to the ones with Al on lead, Al can s-i-n-g!
