This video is nearly 4 years old and after watching it I feel well informed and prepped for my first autocross. I’ve been a spectator of autocross for about 10 years starting with the inaugural LS Fest in Bowling Green Ky. , just bought a 2001 Z06 specifically for autocross weekends to now be a participant and have some fun. I look forward to learning this new hobby and making new friends. I appreciate videos like this to help get myself prepared. Thank you

Nice series, I've always wanted to get into some racing, and finally was able to get a Fiesta ST. But I wasn't really sure how to get into it other than show up.

First autocross in a couple days, so ABSOLUTELY appreciate your vids and knowledge to take a few of the nerves away... and actually be able to have enjoy and appreciate the day at bit more. Driving a 500 Abarth, so obviously not looking for the fastest times, but definitely looking to have fun! Thanks for posting these videos. Appreciated.
Definitely some great advice in the video. I would say one other thing to look out for would be treadwear of your tires. that's how you can judge a how sticky or grippy they will be... the lower the number the more they will grip but the faster they will wear. Some autocross events like scca will limit you to a 200 treadwear and no less others there's no rule that's when you go for a 40 treadwear or 100 treadwear to give yourself an edge. Look for the lightest car there with the biggest tires and the most suspension upgrades... there your competition. Also try to go on a ride along with somebody who's in the top 3 or 5 if it's your first time.
I won my class in my first AutoX event. Granted I was in my M2 and the other guys in the class didn’t have anything that could touch it lol.

@@alonzomedina5359 it was awesome:) I did about twenty runs. They had two practice tracks. Also I had to sign up for two volunteers shifts (picking up cones) which is fun watching other cars !
