Having lived In Colorado when they switched from medical to recreational marijuana, it didn’t seem to make a huge difference. Florida may be different, but having friends who opened recreational marijuana businesses, the amount of regulations was staggering! The Government had to make so much money. They had a limited number of licenses. You had to get permits for everything, the number of plants you could grow, the number of plants you could transport, etc. Every week it seemed like new ones who pop up. It became such a headache, one of my friends ended up just leasing his license to someone else & let them deal with the almost “mafia style” government tactics. Like the stories you’d hear, the wise guy shows up to a bar and informs them all of their glasses are now chipped and they have to replace them by buying from a friend of the wise guy, etc. A lot of it revolved around security, they had to pay specific “inspectors” and they would say “you don’t have enough cameras”, and unless you want to pay for another inspection, & run the risk of being closed down until the inspector can make it back out, you have to buy them from a specific business that charges ridiculous prices, but they can sign off that they installed the additional cameras and you’re up to code.
