great vid Bee. Quick question; since I'm not putting a pi or anything in it, can I hook this up and them put a huge television above any of these games so that the room or rooms could watch it being played? Like, if I did a tournament with you and I playing street fighter II but the A1up screen is too small to see around the players? JK on the second part...
Now mr kongs do you know how to hook up a lcd marquees with a stock 1up pcb . I saw a video of retro Ralph who go to a gaming convention interviewing his guest who had a big blue with a lcd marquees that work with his crt. But didn’t go into detail on how his guest speaker got his big blue cabinet to work in Sync with his cabinet
Nice tut, thanks for sharing specific HDMI devices that can capture. I didn't want to drop any more money than I already was on these to find out which is why I stuck with the software method a while 😆
@@KongsRUs yeah no reason to use it if you can mirror/use geekworm. The main reason for that software tut was to show people how to sideload anything (and just 2 bird 1 stone, hence all the editing on that vid; HDMI part was because I promised to do it but didn't want to lol). But did also put a vid out on how you can embed the audio cheaply w/o shorting for lazy people as well if you're ever curious (feel free to share if you find it useful/no credit needed) -- not to shill here but hadn't seen it specifically elsewhere.
Great video. I have the LVDS to HDMI 2.0 which has more pins (I think it’s 40) than the 30pin cable. I’m trying to just simply add the Dell 2007fpb monitor to my A1UP NBA Jam cabinet. My question is on the conversion board what “side” of the 40 pin row should I connect the 30pin cable to? And also in what orientation (red wire to the left or right?). One thing to note the stock cable on my cabinet has the red wire closest to the WiFi connection on the board. This seems to be the opposite from y oh r video here. I did flip it around to test and it only works with the red wire oriented towards the WiFi connection on the board. Thanks!
Kong, some team recommendations Scrub (cable, sentinel, cap commando) Matrix (storm, sentinel, cyclops) Santhrax (storm, sentinel, cap commando) If you just want pure damage, pick bb hood, juggernaut and 3rd character. Power up with juggernaut and then tag out. Juggernaut will be glitched and stay in powered up mode. Hit both tags to perform the triple team. This triple team hyper is a touch of death for most characters. Build the meter and unleash hell
My MVC2 cabinet won’t even play the older games online without a constant server disconnect😢should I go wired? All my other 1ups work fine online, just this one has issues.
I’m still waiting for my geek worm to arrive from china but I have all the other parts to do my 20” monitor swap for mvc2. Hope the geek work v2.0 works.
Do they make a HDMI input so I can run the original 1up game and a option to add another controller gaming console to it so I can play the original cabinet game and a secondary unit on the cabinet
Any way of knowing just which A1Up PCBs are compatible?? I would really like to be able to hook up my softmodded Marvel countercade to a larger hdmi monitor.
I never knew what type of Dongle John D was referring to when he first brought it up, but when I went to his office, he showed off this exact geekworm 1.5 board which has been used by modders for a while now. He mentioned possibly working with Geekworm to make a specific dongle for A1up, but I assume it would be a similar process to what this tutorial shows.
I added the LVDS to HDMI to my Golden Tee classic. It works, but only on one specific TV. I tried on 5 other TVs and monitors they all say no signal. Any idea why it would work only on my LG TV?
Specific TVs can accept the resolution output from the PCB. 1280x960 is the 4:3 output so some TVs can accept it and scale it to full screen. Others will just give an error
any luck using to change monitor on a arcade 1 up pinball machine. 2 guys on you tube are not to clear on the upgrade. one guys all over the place and the other guys just using the cabinet with a pc.
Have you tried this with an atgames legends pinball machine? I looking to do a monitor upgrade (Display port 1440P) and still run the ALP games(HDMI 1080p).
So I could pretty much connect any console with this hdmi upgrade right? And how do you switch from arcade1up marvel vs capcom 2 to hdmi put for when you want to play say playstation 5?
You would just need this simple LVDS to HDMI board to turn your stock A1up LCD to accept HDMI input from an external source like a Pi or PC amzn.to/3YlDyD3
It should work with Big Buck, but I haven't tested this exact board with it. I know the original geekworm board worked with it, but 1.5 should work too
I could never get the Buck Hunter to work. Different displays and same result. Feedback from A1Up is the second and final wave of BHW shipments have a new PCB. This fits with ArcadeModup also not having success with newer BHW shipments.
You could switch the monitor between a pi and stock games, but you wouldn't be able to get the controls working for both as you'd need a separate encoder for the controls to the Pi
Hey kong! Question. I have the geekworm hooked up to a HD60 Elgato and a 4kPro mk.2 and both are unable to find the signal. I plugged it into a monitor (1440) and it works so i know its not board. any ideas?
I haven't done other extensive testing with this board and setup on other cabs so don't have much advice unfortunately. Would recommend checking with @TheRealSmileBit who does a lot of youtube coverage about geekworms and features
Hey Kong quick question, gutted PCB for a SF deluxe Dynamo for a HDMI encoder board now my Marquee is not lighting up why is that i got sound not light pluged it in the back nothing???
Hmmm, marquee is powered by simple 12v adapter plug, so you can always try testing it out with another 12v power source If you have the right adapter size for it. Would double check all the wires are correctly secured into the PCB and try again
Oh, you definitely need an external power source for the marquee then. There's a hack to get 12v from the HDMI board but it's a little complicated and requires wire splicing. Get a 12v splitter for your power adapter and these Adapters for the marquee amzn.to/44GjhMV amzn.to/3wqpyQk amzn.to/3wN93h4

Is that show on YT 1upoffical channel...new channel..... is it live or recorded? Thanks

Yes! You could use that HDMI out for a 2nd monitor as well
Sounds like a good solution for those who wanted a second screen on top of their Dragon's Lair cabinets.
Yes! Should work the same too and will try it out on my Dragon's Lair
Or replacing one of those TN monitors with an IPS monitor.
So this video is a year old. Will these hook ups work on the new(er) Mortal Kombat 2 deluxe arcade 1up cabinet?
So I can use this to hook up the stock pcb to output to a HDMI LCD?

Awesome breakdown, are all the components are backward compatible with mvc1 cabs too?
Yes! I've tested this setup with my MvC1 cab too
By using this method, can you hook up a PS2 and output the games on the A1U monitor?

Scrub (cable, sentinel, cap commando)
Matrix (storm, sentinel, cyclops)

Any issues with lag since the signal is passing through the splitter board?
I haven't noticed any additional lag, but I'm not the best expert with it. I was able to pull off several moves still using the splitter board
WIll you be testing this with A1UP's Dragon's Lair?
That's a great suggestion to add a 2nd monitor to Dragon's Lair! I'll definitely test it out and report back or make a new video
Follow-Up: Good morning Bee. Have you had the chance to test this with A1UP's DL?
I haven't had a chance yet, but it's on my project list of many things to do
Do they make a HDMI input so I can run the original 1up game and a option to add another controller gaming console to it so I can play the original cabinet game and a secondary unit on the cabinet

Can you do this with a marvel superheroes countercade?
what should i use to connect a 32in monitor to a stock star wars pinball arcade1up
Aren't we getting an official Arcade1up approved dongle soon?

I don't have that cab to test so not sure. Sorry!
