Shinall is such a great interview, well spoken, intentional elusive answers to save spoilers but still gives clarity to feel like I still gained insights. New fan here!😊
I already have more Zombicide than I need (for how often I play Boardgames) with Marvel Zombies, it's stretch goals, and two expansions on the way to my house, but I really like DC and am liking the differences that are being mentioned here.
I'm sure there will be a Black Lantern Corp expansion pack, and with it a possible variation of Zombie Mode to play off of it. It's exciting to hear that each expansion will add some new mechanic to mix things up, can't wait!
To introduce a black lantern corp expansion they would have to change all zombie miniatures to wearing a black lantern corp suit and ring, think that's a reasonable expectation?
@@yasirerI think (if they [for some strange reason] decided to do that) you'd only have the Zombie heroes from said box with maybe an add-on and a couple of kickstarter exclusives and most likely wouldn't be able to use Zombies from other boxes
Nice interview, thanks Alex! I've been saying it since the Marvel Zombicide KS, their 60th project will be DC United. A new United project comes along every 6 projects, it totally makes sense for their next big release. I'm already getting MZ, I don't need another superhero Zombicide iteration, but I'll very likely be getting this one too... and of course any inevitable season 2s. I may have to get another shelf lol.
For reference, Dev Diary 2 was the one where they first named the brutes, walkers and runner the Horde Zombies, and went a little into what some of the Zombie Heroes bring to the game. It came out around October 2nd.
@@BoardGameCo yeah, I think I ran into that problem when I was trying to do a search on their site for the Marvel Zombies dev diaries (I wanted to compare them to the DCeased ones at the time). Ended up having to scroll through their news section to find them.
Great interview! Would love to see more just like this. I’m a comics and board game superfan. Perfect crossover. Would like to see other popular comics in board games like Something is Killing the Children or Spawn.
Would be a cool quality of life improvement to have roles on the back of hero cards. I.e. Tank, Ranged Damage, Healer, Support etc. to help players pick a team at first glance without needing to know how everyone's abilities work and making that judgment themselves
I think there are a lot of future Zombicide IP versions. Anything with zombies would be cool like a future Dawn of the dead expansion. He did hint at IP holders like to come back to the same company. But perhaps even a Nazi Zombies version based off Wolfenstein or Call of Duty Nazi zombies game mode. Would be cool imo.
Would love to see cmon get the rights to an anime such as One piece and game a sick miniatures game out of that IP. Dont think zombicide would work for alot of them but a game with similar mechanics would be super cool
Well white death is essentially a dynasty warrios board game. So one piece would actually work perfect. Just remove the zombie elements. One piece witch dice chucking and hordes of enemies dying sounds great to me.
@@jcapo5 right ! Idk if theyd be able to call it zombicide cuz no zombies. But playing as the straw hats fighting hordes of marines would be sick! Or maybe they could call it One peice zombicide if the core box was thriller bark themed
I'm excited for DCeased, love DC. But, I hope these things that are missing from this version will be replaced with new and fresh ideas. No zombie mode is fine, as long as you add something fun and replayable in return. Searching for items might not make sense in this version sure, but they need to plug in something that will add some depth in return.
I’m calling it, out of nowhere with no supporting evidence other than “new and yet familiar” and I’m thinking it’s a full on Ghostbusters set. I say this, because it is THE theme that would get me to buy yet another zombicide for sure 100% (of course, they’d be ghosts, not zombies, so…. ghosticide?)
It sounds like it'll be most compatible with the Hero mode in MZ. Compatibility with Zombie mode seems a bit trickier. I imagine using DC heroes in the Sinister Six PvP mode will also work pretty well. I guess that playing with MZ Zombies alongside DCeased Heroes (or MZ Heroes for that matter) is possible if you're willing to homebrew a few rules.
It's compatible, they just can't outright say it. The main difference is collecting multiple bystanders and getting equipment as those two features are new in DCeased. So, it depends on which rules/maps you're playing with can determine that, besides that they function the same
Does Batman always fix things? Almost every big event in DC (thinking of even Dark Crisis) seems to be his fault. Then the JL (you know. People with powers and Oliver) bail him and the DC universe out of it. Also was anyone depressed with him being zombied in DCeased? Or were they inspired by Damien taking up the mantle and doing it better?
They've hinted at it by saying "this will work with previous similar Zombicides" or "This will be compatible with other zombicides I may or may not have worked on." They probably can't just say "yes it's compatible with Marvel" due to DC
I have hopes that the zombie mode isnt a core box like marvel 'X-men Resistance' which is why it isnt officially coming - but will be a stretch-goal expansion like the blue-vs-yellow mode
Really disappointed that there won’t be a Zombie mode. It just feels like a lot of replayability for relatively low design time is going to waste. Not sure if I’ll bother backing this one.
I prefer playing from the heroes perspective anyway, if you want zombie mode then that's just a Marvel specific thing. No other Zombicide has this, maybe DCeased will have something else?
Why was Mera a Bystander? She's On Par if not stronger then Aquaman and has Water Control Powers. Doesn't really seem to fit into the Bystander Catagory.
@@EliteC64 Sure but Aquaman made a Billion Dollors and she was in that and she was a badass. I'm just wondering why a Superpowered person is in the bystander Catagory.
Man I really don’t need a third zombicide but this sounds like it checks the right boxes. I love my games hard, didn’t like playing as zombie heroes, and love the idea of big items.
Deep Spoilers... "were prob going to have a few expansions in this game"... haha, its Cmon, that's not a supprise to anyone! brace your wallets, financial crippling incoming. ps, im all in!
I'm not asserting any positive or negative to you personally: Just saying that highlighting that this isn't a sponsored video is a highly moot point as you are doing sponsored videos for this campaign in the future. Such arrangements (consciously or unconsciously) can clearly have bearing. It can prevent some creators from asking scathing or critical questions. Just food for thought. I continue to enjoy your content.
I honestly hate to be "that guy", but the way you're pronouncing "DCeased" makes me think you don't know it's a play on the word "deceased" (aka "dead"). Instead you seem to be saying it like "D-seized" or possibly "diseased"? Fantastic interview by the way. I don't want to take anything away from that. This was so incredibly informative. Thank you!

I'm pretty excited for this game. What makes me less excited is the fact that I STILL have not received my Marvel Zombies Pledge...
I mean, when it comes in you will be able to do Marvel vs DC in a couple of months
What a dumb comment

I would love a Naruto or Demon Slayer game from CMON....not zombicide, a new system :)

Don't say that I've come to terms I don't need another Zombicide game anytime soon after DCeased 😅
As a man let me tell you. I really enjoy the she ra set. I use them often actually. I grew up with masters of the universe so it was a must buy
Ive been playing zombicide awhile now. Hard and Very Hard are the only mission difficulty I like.
I know this is a shot in the dark, but is there any chance for a Marvel/DC Zombicide crossover mode? Either DC heros vs. Marvel zombies or vice versa?
They've indirectly said that it will be compatible with Marvel Zombies, but their wording gives me the impression that they can't directly say as much

Woo I really enjoy the idea of Batman pickup up trucks and hurling it toward a bunch of zombie , very believable.
Sure sounds like DC United is coming...
Here’s hoping a wave 2 even if it’s smaller just for War of the Undead Gods stuff cause wow!

I pretty much heard that DC United is not coming. Not next anyway.
I want Shazam
I don’t know if I missed it but did you not ask if Dceased is compatible with Marvel Zombies?
Mostly - id cards follow same stats but DC interacts differently with ByStanders and searching items - minor house rules to plug and play, im sure!
No zombie mode? There better be something awesome in the game to make me buy it.

Because Warners Bros probably said no.

Soooo this seems exactly like marvel zombies… not sure with all this marvel zombies I need more 🤷🏻♂️
No Zombie mode because they are respectful of the source material. That’s fine but still too bad. Pass for me.
