I pooped all over an Edinburgh in the Atago by simply chasing him and bow tanking with my hydro on. Out of like 15 salvos he might've done 1000 damage. He sent me a message saying "good play", nice to see some good sports once in a while
@@beardumaw24 I mean, you're not wrong. I stopped playing Warships cause I was tired of the endless grind for the next ridiculously power creeping ship. However that said Edinburgh is an extremely powerful ship in the right hands. This encounter was literally days after it had been released and people hadn't figured the ship out yet. I'd the same encounter happened today it could easily go either way
Push in, contest caps. Kill the DD then become the DD. Exactly how the RN CL's should be played. Leander in much better in every way. On PC Fiji always considered best in line. Edinburgh a bit meh despite being very hard to citadel, but on PC Edinburgh was T8 and constantly saw T10. I suspect the Eddie might be a beast in Legends. GG.
These videos are such a great resource...even for PC. Most content creators tell you a lot about the ships. Strengths, weaknesses, tips, etc. But what I love about your vids, Tbull, is that you teach sound strategy. Keep it up!!
I hope this isnt true, OR, youre a really really good cruiser player...bcuz not knowing how a line of ships works and then buying max tier just to fuck your team would be pretty awful
Hated my first 8 or so games in but now I love it. You’re bang on the money. You need to play at max range where possible. You’re a difficult ship to hit wiggling at 10k plus and the shells are amazing with Fraser. I tried with tenant using the ingenious perk but decided its best to go with the offensive build and just assume everyone is targeting you when you’re spotted and dodge and weave. If this is the dud I’m delighted! Two of these in a devision with a third devision mate destroyer spotting and cycling your smokes is borderline op imo.
There was a lot I liked about the Emerald. But, for me, she seemed idiotically delicate, even by T4 cruiser standards (none of which are battlewagons, by any means). So glad to have progressed to the T5 Leander.
Excellent gameplay, am not cruiser type player, but thanks to your videos yesterday hit 10 citadels whit Leander in one play and 114 shots!!! keep the good work bro.
Lol no you didnt get a 170k game in a tier 4. Theres around 200k-400k hp across the team at that tier. The likelyhood of anyplayer pulling that much damage is slim to none. And IF, big IF, ya did....youre the best player in the world
It isn't unplayable its just weak. You have good games in it because you know deep down inside you have to play safer and better otherwise you'll get deleted. If you can stay alive you can do good damage but torps are uselessly short and your citadel is enormous so you are always going to struggle to contribute vs competent opponents.
Hey Tbull !! I just want to thank you for making all these videos for us , i really appreciate it !!! Something that bothers me , if i want to buy Atago ... How am i suppose to gather 750k global XP to get it ???
You could spend ALOT of money and convert elite xp(xp that is earned on fully upgraded ships, or premium ships) but i wouldnt recommend it unless yousa whale
I'd you have people blind firing you then you can't shoot full salvos all at once, as it kind of provides a pretty good idea of exactly where your ship is
To be fair most cruisers are very playable in down tiered matches and not so much the other end Edit : seen plenty of t5 cruisers kraken against a bunch of emeralds
Not a question about this ship but about the De Grasse. I have been playing her a lot lately and have been doing well playing in the back line giving fire support to the front line. am I playing correctly as I don't really use cover much. I tend to keep moving as fast as I can while putting down fire support
That’s how I play the De Grasse. If I venture too close to the action, I usually get deleted in short order. Staying at range, moving, and using available cover, keeps you in the game longer. Yes, play it as a support ship, working the flanks, and continuously firing on any available targets. I usually end up top on my team, with several earn missions completed.
@@darrenvanderwilt1258 thank you for your reply. Yeah that's what was happening to me before I began playing at range so I think I'll stick to what I'm doing as it seems to be working
Stay at range, and use a stealth build. Mikawa and Lemonier ! Rain fire undetected, and keep those torps in the water! They have great range, and sow confusion. I love the De Grasse. I use it a bunch for ranked.
A noxious floater in the English punchbowl. That's the Emerald. My main issue with this one is the truly horrible rudder shift. The thing makes even the Konigsberg look like a prima ballerina. I'm too used to the Marblehead and you simply can't play this ship like it's Marblehead. I don't think you have the option for double rudder on it, but it needs it. Of course, mine isn't upgraded and a non-upgraded ship is difficult to deal with. I was saving my free xp for something else, but this one...this one would tempt a naval saint to fire the scuttling charges and move on to greener seas.
@@Zapranoth-lf8nt I was sorely tempted to do likewise. However, I didn't--it wasn't that much xp after all--and just played it. Two things: use the smoke and get the hull upgrade first. It does change the character of the ship considerably.
Might be a dull question I haven't seen all your videos, so not sure if you already covered it but! I noticed you aim waterline on some ships and then aim the top of the hull what's the difference pal and when should you use each technique so to speak ?
It's kind of a function of the ability of the shells to penetrate and how armored the ships are. A bit too complicated to answer here, but if you are shooting at the waterline and it's not doing damage, then aiming up to hit the more lightly armored parts of the ship usually works better.
Thank you tbull that's a good enough explanation for me to go off fella!. Guess it makes sense, you wont be doing maximum damage, but you'll be doing consistant moderate damage to lighter superstructure. One other thing is there a point where the penetration modifier counts as a negative for ships with bigger guns like the 16 inch range, when it comes to trying to citidel those pesky cruisers ? I'm finding lately I'm over penetrating cruisers alot in my BB's. It's something I'm not used to because I tend to use ships like the scharnhorst with its smaller guns.
Sweet Lil' John tribute. I'm 3 games into the Leander and its pretty much un-upgraded at this point but I love both Emerald and Leander so far. Averaged 5.5k xp for each of my last 4 games in Emerald with 2 krakens. Part of it is clearly the ridiculous amount of broadside cruisers trying to level up the British line making it citadel city but I agree...Emerald is no dud. Leander is probably the better boat I'd say so far but only has 1 torpedo salvo per side.
The tier 7 ship in this line has the same exact guns... at tier 7... with same exact reload time... at tier 7... with same exact damage... at tier 7... This line really plays like a destroyer, that can be citadel'd lol. Btw I have lvl 15 Yamamoto... I can't imagine how these ships play without him lol.
Emerald on PC is a tier 5 and facing tier 7's with her lackluster armor certainly isnt fun. Butchering a bunch of tier 3's on the other hand? I can see how this is fun. Furutaka as a tier 4 seems almost rude tho. She does mean things to tier 7's on PC and being on the receiving end of that as a tier 3 does totally not sound fun.
Noticed that too, right when I start beasting with about 75% health and all health consumables, BLAM! I'm hopping in another boat to kill time for the dock tow.

I went through the Emerald and I'm in the process of Grinding the Leander. I'm not really that impressed with either so far. Just shooting AP over and Over gets old fast. Not to mention the lack of HE. Can't really do much to a Battleship but harras the piss out of them. Nice try by Wargaming though.
