Just wanted to say a huge thanks Joe for the pleasure you have given over many years. I have been privileged to see you many times and at every show you always gave your all. A huge talent that was not utilised by the TV producers who seem to think Joe wasn't cool enough to put out. How wrong they all were he was Mr. Entertainment to his boots with such an amazing voice that had pathos, warmth all wrapped up in singing us a story in every song. Oh buggar the cancer that eventually took you away. We won't see the likes of him again always worked his socks off since a child. I have nearly finished his autobiography and a lot of his life was hard. Still he has left us with his music. Bye Joe will miss you dreadfully
Whoever put this together , fantastic. It was brilliant. As I'm watching the One Show after his burial in Blackpool today, no mention of this great performer. Only love island and people baking cakes mentioned. Disgraceful BBC.
The term "Class" is devisive. It never recognises those who genuinely deserve it. To say this man never got the recognition he deserved is the understatement of a generation. Joe Longthorne, a one off, world class performer to the end...
I was working in a nursing home in the 90’s and Joe was playing locally. It was Mother’s Day and he sent single red roses over for any elderly lady that would be alone that day. What a fantastic man.
Just came across this lovely tribute to Joe he is greatly missed he was one of a kind my sister Lizzie and I travelled to see Joe wherever he was and he was a pure joy to watch and we often talk about all the places we went to. There was and always will be only one Joe Longthorne. We miss him.
Had the privilege to see you joe a few years ago in Brighton , your amazing voice captivated me. I then bought every cd and DVD I could find. You will live on in my heart and mind for as long as I can breath joe.... Cliff the London cabbie. Your singing with the Angels mate xxx
R.I.P Joe, what a fantastic guy and talent! Me and my family where always big fans and saw you live on a few occasions. One of the finest voices i have ever heard and also a unique impressionist and comedian, very grounded and humble and vastly underrated. The finest entertainer the uk has ever produced...be at peace now Joe and your wonderful music will always live on ❤
Our greatess entertainer bar non Joeboy.Right up there with the worlds very best. The Sinartra,s Deano Sammy Mathis Bennet,Diamond you name it.A stunning voice and a true true great talent.RIP JOEBOY For me,you were the greatess of. Them all.xx😥
This man was my grandfathers idol and sadly he never got to go to a show or to meet him but he’s turned me into a huge fan and it’s so sad that he’s gone and he didn’t get the well deserved send off on Irish TV or Radio .
Truly the GREATEST MALE VOCALIST THIS COUNTRY HAS, a great trooper through thick and thin, through His Fight against cancer, this man never ceases to amaze me, I wish him much more than he could ever wish himself. Good luck, love and mostly good health for the future, love to you and James, love Jules xxxx
Just would like to say Joe longthoene MBE, R I P, you will never be forgotten, your music will live on your voice was one in a million. God bless sleep peacefullyxxx
As a young girl in Northern England, I was so inspired by the great Joe Longthorne. He had that extra bit of magic that you can never be taught, but that is yours by the Grace of God. Even these many years later, as I live many thousands of miles away from the town in which I was born - Scunthorpe, very close to Mr. Longthorne's home town of Hull, I remember Joe Longthorne as one of the greatest Entertainers I ever saw "Live" onstage. He has been through so much, and has been a Warrior throughout. God Bless him.....always. Very respectfully, a fellow entertainer, Toni Morrell
Joe has touched so many poples life with his amazing love for music and incredible voice's. I will never forget seeing him in late 80;s in Australia. thanks for this great story on Joe. what a pleasure it is to listen to him. I hope he is well
So sorry that you have joined the entertainment world with the other angels, another great performer now gone, your the one who got me into the singing business my thoughts are with you and your wonderful family Joe. R.I.P mate and thank you
I am an avid David Bowie fan. I also love the music of Roxy Music, Lou Reed, The Stones etc. However, I went to see Joe at a gig in Manchester. in my opinion, although a different genre, he deserves the accolades if the likes of Bowie. RIP JOE.
This man is a legend, One of the finest and as strong as a ox. Ive seen him 4 times this year and it amazes me how on earth he can keep doing it with all hes been through. He really is the one for us learners to look upto. Love the guy to bits and respect fully. and the connection between Joe and his Fans is truly special. A Pure master Class.
I went to see Joe's live show in Stevenage last Friday, first time I'd seen him live, though have many of his CD's and DVD's. The show was great and Joe was marvellous and looked so well. Nice to catch up on youtube with his other shows in many different venues, here and abroad. Keep socking it to us Joe - we love you!
Was a pleasure to meet you & see you in concerts, A true Gentleman, we the fan's will miss you, to us you were a real Superstar, God bless you Joe, R.I.P Your now the Brightest Star x x
You know this is a lucky guy. I say that because he loves what he does and to be honest he's amazing at it. Wouldn't we all want that! To do what we love and be frigging good at it! He's the kind of old school hard working guy that if he had 2 broken legs he would still crawl on that stage to entertain. I think cancer has a long wait before it takes this guy. He's attitude to cancer is fuck off, I have a job to do. I've seen him twice and it was a privilege to watch. Mr Joe Longthorne you are an inspiration. Keep going buddy and keep putting smiles on people's faces .
I never saw Joe on stage but loved watching him on TV. He was a great entertainer and a fabulous singer. What passes for entertainment at the present day can't hold a candle to him. We can send a man to the moon, rockets to Mars but we still can't cure cancer. RIP Joe and thanks for great entertainment and happy memories.
What an amazing man with an amazing voice! He should have been more famous and had much more worldwide recognition than he did. So much illness, such a will to live, what a fighter. Live long and prosper, Joe!
What an iconic man he is! Unarguably multi talented seen him so many times through his best gigs and ones where he’s struggled through. Never tire of listening or watching this man. Truly one of Britain’s greatest artists slightly underrated to most, but joe has and he will agree, he is one of the luckiest men alive for one fact only... he has some of the best and loyalist fans in the world!!! Will never be forgotten joe
I was friends with joe and every time I went tot see him I was always in awe of his performances how he was not a bigger star was beyond me the only thing that held him back was his Illness I was at his funeral and what a send off he had, but rest assured he’s up there entertaining Elvis and frank sinatra and MJ showing them how it’s really done....miss you already joe 👍🏻❤️

Saw Joe more times than I can remember - the greatest singer I have ever seen and as others say, so under rated. If not for illness and bad management, he should have been up there with the biggest stars
saw him on two occasions in Perth w.a.most amazing singer,he could sing like most of the stars, then excel many of them with his own voice, i still enjoy the cds i bought after the shows, thanks Joe .Tony
Lost my beautiful mam with pancreatic cancer. 62 she was godbless her. And you Joe and my mam was at the same school. She use to climb the wall and run. Just to hear your voice. Hope your up there now. With my mam and dad having a jolly. Sweet dreams Joe. I wont say godbless but il say enjoy always. Xxxxx
I was never a fan, but I always thought he was a good person all the way through and gave everything in his performances. It was obvious he absolutely loved entertaining. There is no doubting his courage and dedication to have fought back from illness so many times to carry on entertaining his fans. It’s very sad to hear that he’s gone.
He lived a wonderful life and made a lot of people happy, at least he got to his 60s others only have a few seconds of life .....let’s just be grateful for the years we have
a fascinating clip from an amazing man! after all he's been through he's still the best and most talented performer this country has ever produced. it's a fantastic achievement to still be at the top of his game, and he IS!!! well done Joe, you're a marvel....would love to obtain this story in full, any suggestions would be much appreciated, thanks...
