It still hurts. He had the amazing ability to touch the soul with the lyrical interpretation of the powerful ballads and the range of emotions. He was the best, often imitated and never equalled. RIP darling Joe
Makes me sad watching Joe in 2021, he had it all and we all loved him. I remember him in my lifetime and i wouldn't have wanted to have missed him for the world. RIP Joe, still remembered, still loved.
I was fortunate enough to be in Joe's company on a few occasions, despite his chocolate brown Rolls Royce a humble man, more interested in what you were up to than dwell on himself... As well as having a unique talent he was a truly gifted singer, I would personally say that he was at the very top of his game in the niche market he worked in... No one came close to Joe Longthorne
It's 40 years now since I saw Joe Live in Blackpool. I followed his career and as being singer saw him live many times in all that time. God bless him he was a talent that was superior. Joe was the best God bless and thank you for the best 👌 R.I P sing with the angels 😇 x
Just brilliant! This man was the quintessential entertainer. Loved to entertain and brought joy to all that were fortunate enough to see him perform. His own singing voice would have made him a star, but his uncanny ability to duplicate so many of the greatest singers of our time put him at the super star level. RIP.
I absolutely agree with that comment he was just absolutely brilliant and I think because of the great talent he Had he was definitely underrated rest in peace Joe you’re never be forgotten
As you listen to Joe perform a song in character, you ache for the next vocal impression to delight you. He was so energetic just bubbling with sheer all British talent, missed forever. RIPJoe Longthorne.
so glad i grew up in an era of such amazing singers and a man who could sing like all of them, the tom jones, frank sinatra and tony bennett were out of this world. we don't make them like joe anymore
Joe Longhtorne an artist with an unequaled talent, incredible voice and voices, good-looking, very sensitive, all the songs that the singing made with the emotion that it should be, a Great Artist, the Best without a doubt
I find it hard to believe how 18 people could give the thumbs down to this man although there has been lot said about his private life But that’s none of our business it’s the man and his amazing talent that we should appreciate this man had cancer but still performed And yes sometimes Ive seen him perform and I felt so sorry because he must’ve been full of painkillers And I’m speaking From experience The big C nearly took my life. But he wanted to perform so let’s judge the man by his amazing talent And have sympathy and understanding for the terrible pain he must’ve been going through rest in peace Joe
was speaking about joe the other day with family and discussing great entertainers from the 80,s.............why arent these greats entertaining us today on tv?...........all we get is mundane x factor at weekends...........we need variety..............JOE was brilliant.
It is such a shame we don't have TV shows today like we had back then, You were one of my favourite Artists, Your vocal range in your Impressions is fantastic, it is such a pity todays generation don't get the chance to see youand your kind of artist, You are fabulous. One of if not , the best of all, Brilliant, Thank you Joe for being a part my life, Watching you on the Box was always a Joy, the whole family from nans and Grand dads to small children watched,
Amazing to me is the thought of you rising to the top of your profession through the voices of others. The first video I ever saw of you was one in which the impersonations were your act. You were of similar age, as in this video, and I loved the people you were doing impressions of...all full voiced, iconic singers...and you were fabulous! I thought to myself, even then, but why are they not hearing that within those impressions is a voice that MUST come out on its own and be appreciated, if not lauded! No one can do that type of act without having a spectacular voice and incredible range themselves...especially when incorporating two of the most storied ladies of Jazz and Pop, Cleo Laine & Shirley Bassey!!! So...hiding within those impressions was one of the finest voices I' had ever heard and, of course, you did fulfill your destiny and became the Joe Longthorne we all came to love! No longer, Joe Longthorne, Impressionist....just Joe Longthorne. That Joe Longthorne became the world's finest singer & most beloved entertainer! It seemed you had taken a long and circuitous route to stardom but...then again...it's just another part of the musical prowess you've given us and I'd be willing to bet there isn't a soul out there that would have it any other way at this point. We, the greatest listeners of the world, have no idea what it takes to break in and break through to show business. I just know it's a tough business, not only to get in to but to stay in, year after year and decade after decade and I'm grateful for any device that got you here to us...the people who adore you! You remember the popular song "Get Here" by Oleta Adams...and others as well! Well Joe..you definitely Got Here...and I'm so glad!
They obviously don't know what pure talent is!! Joe was the best of the best. Never heard a voice like his before or after Rip Joe Your fans were always and still are here for you as you were always for them
Joe, what can I say that no else hasn't already said..you truly are blessed with your talent...THANK YOU SO MUCH For SHARING your gift with the world so generously. We ALL love you! God Bless you...always!! Xxx-ooo
Alan roberts, yes, joe was a great entertainer.please rememer there was an entertainer named sammy davis jr.sammy was the best all around entertainer that ever lived.joe had great passion and an abundance of talent.i hope you agree with my comment.
It's all been said about Joe hasnt it? Public love him fans galore all recognise his wonderful talent, I think thats all he wants really. JUST WANTS TO ENTERTAIN thanks jOE
Impossible to give enough praise to a man who has given his life to make other souls on this planet of ours feel better, and to forget their worries while he takes them to a higher place, that is what Angels are all about...transforming time into happiness Joseph has earned his wings with his 64 years in physical form....now he is a spirit in the gods still touching whoever reaches out for love and hope... God Bless Joseph and Jamie his Partner-soulmate who came to him when he needed help and love to guide him through life and to the ultimate Journey and eventually to help carry the pain that his suffering brought him...that is what pure love is all about....footprints! xx RIP love always to you both Peter x
Just been watching Dame Shirley Bassey's special and the first person I thought of was Joe. I loved his impressions all of them, especially Shirley's and I was so in love with Joe 💖
He was known in England mostly. However, along with Bobby Davro, Russ Abbott, Les Dennis and others he seems to have gone into obscurity as the powers that control the TV (the unmentionables like Grade & Son; and others of that type) in the UK dumb down entertainment in favour of cheap acts that have zero musicality, foistering them on the public until the youngsters think that this 'new music' is theirs even if it is absolute 'shit' (Just think rhythm and not words - acid house parties etc - utter shit).
I think this guy is without doubt the best singer/ entertainer this country has ever had, however re him not appearing on tv these days you have to remember that in his prime he upset a lot of people. He was even band from cruise ships for years because of his behaviour. Unfortunately media folk have long memories. Shame really because even today with all his health problems there is still no one to touch him. Anyone that doubts that just need to keep a watch for the DVD of his 60th birthday at the London palladium. It has not been released yet, but when it is buy it. He will astound you especially that when you consider he had mouth cancer at the time.
It still hurts. He had the amazing ability to touch the soul with the lyrical interpretation of the powerful ballads and the range of emotions. He was the best, often imitated and never equalled. RIP darling Joe
Brilliant
Such a great talent will missed
Just brilliant.... There's no one like him...!
Worked with him loads. Miss him even more. And no replacements. Very sad. Thank god we have these clips.
Deserved a standing ovation after that performance, what an incredible talent he was and never got the full recognition he so truly deserved. RIP Joe
Makes me sad watching Joe in 2021, he had it all and we all loved him. I remember him in my lifetime and i wouldn't have wanted to have missed him for the world. RIP Joe, still remembered, still loved.
There was something very special about Joe Longthorne. A remarkable talent and man. Unique. Fly high Joe and thanks for the memories.
J IP e Joe was the best we all love you
Just superb!

Love him, he can impersonate any voice, wow what a talent and we lost him too early at 64!!!
Listening to young Joe again after many years i didn't realise just how great a performer he was. What a voice and entertainer!
It's 40 years now since I saw Joe Live in Blackpool. I followed his career and as being singer saw him live many times in all that time. God bless him he was a talent that was superior. Joe was the best God bless and thank you for the best 👌 R.I P sing with the angels 😇 x
It doesn't get any better than this.
Just brilliant! This man was the quintessential entertainer. Loved to entertain and brought joy to all that were fortunate enough to see him perform. Joe was a very holy man and radiated God and Love. All who spent time in his presence am certain would confirm that.
How do you understand or evaluate his 'holiness'? Seriously. And what makes you assume he is in Heaven, eternally with God?

I'm 61 years old and I've just heard of this person. He must be known just in England.
Joe has a worldwide fan base catch up with him on www.joelongthornembe.co.uk
