- Maiden of my - FMS 70mm - F/A18 Super Hornet , It needed quite a bit of trimming (Yours truly on sticks, Ben on the trims) short flight using a 3300Mah battery that Ben provided for the flight - having taken a look at other videos I will be using the 4000MAh 6s - for the Maiden + 1
That's one impressive looking jet, Martyn. Just a tweak here, a nip there and it'll be flying like a champion. Good maiden, Sir!
Hi Gina, I really do like the size and power - with Ben on the trims, I can focus on flying (for maiden flights this really helps) - Holding my hand as he puts it..LOL... and yes indeed a little mix and trim she should be solid, I do intend to try a bigger battery next time - the orange one at the start of the video 4000mah - should get 3 mins then and not 2 !! - Say hi to Alan from me, Cheers Martyn
Brilliant maiden flight Martyn and a nice landing, ben is so helpful at the airfield trimming the aircraft for you as you fly....jeff.
Hi Jeff, It sure does beat doing a maiden on your own - Ben adds 5 clicks at a time or 10 if it is way way out - this allows me to just fly the aircraft, we almost got it..Maiden+1 should be ok on my own and just add in the slight trims needed to get it 100% dialed in - lower flights coming up soon .. Awesome plane Martyn and yourself and Ben make a good team. You’ll get it properly trimmed I’m sure with the bigger battery and hopefully longer flight time 🫡

F18 is a lovely looking plane - retracts too, making me jealous! I love my Freewing 4s - I'll have to do without the retracts!

Some of them can be a handful on the maiden.
For a split second I thought, that can't be right, did someone built a really big plane table? :).

Hi Airhammer - Since ben and I teamed up for maidens (my Maidens) it has made so much difference - I just focus on flying and Ben inputs the clicks (trimms) - makes life so much better... LOL - well be had the chuck glider and we had to get it into the video , Cheers Martyn OUT !

Indeed almost but not quite 100% - maiden+1 should sort it out and I do need to keep an eye on the gear going up... Cheers

Hi Ironmover - needed trimming but then again it was the Maiden - Ben is really helpful and a great flyer, with myself concentrating on the sticks and he does the trim (maidens) it really does help, as for his battery I think 3300 is too small and will try a 4000 next flight . which given how we have trimmed it out - will be much lower and closer... cheers Martyn

Hi Travis - this maiden was all about trimming - Quick question - what Battery do you use in yours I found that the 3300mah only gave me 2 mins !!! - looking for a battery that is bigger... cheers Martyn
@FlankerTanker I don't have a 70mm f18. My f18 is the fms 64mm. Bit I have seen 4000 6s run in them though
I use a 6s 4000mah in mine, that orange lipo looks a bit to tall , i use Socokin lipos . Awesome lipos
Hi Mikey, your right that orange one is too tall - but I do have some Admiral 4000's that do fit, I will use them next time - cheers
I always do maidens without all the stuff hanging on the wing cause it also makes it fly weird. To much drag as well
Yer I know what you mean - normally I would not have the drag inducing items under the wing - but my curiosity got the better of me - I decided to put half on and leave the larger items off - pleased I did in this case... cheers.
