@@mooncakess Yeah, it’s those complexities that make MXTX's novel so different from others, in my opinion. When you read it first, it’s enjoyable, but when you go back, you find so many layers, it becomes classic!

But when I read it back again… my heart hurt so much when I realized that was the first time they’d seen each other in 800 years and how poorly their friendship breakup went 😭😭😭 it’s so worth rereading MXTX’s works to catch new things

Mu Qing didn’t believe that kids should fight in the army so to “protect” Hua Cheng he secretly kicked him out. Despite his good intentions, Hua Cheng’s hated Mu Qing ever since. (For that reason, and also because Mu Qing abandoned Xie Lian in the past.)
Isn’t one of the voice actors from the Japanese anime Fruits Basket one of them really sounds like him. I just bought the anime dvd today and i am sooo very excited to watch it. And i just love the sassiness💕😇
I often find dubs funnier than the original language because they localize the jokes in English… for example hua cheng’s sassiness definitely peeks through 😂
