I loved the shiny bike hack because I've done a similar thing myself for a few years now... after spraying some chain lube on one day with my bike upside down it had dripped onto my frame which was black but a bit faded from sun and weather and im pretty sure (i bought it used) that even when new the original finish was more of a matte and never glossy. Anyways naturally i had a rag and began wiping the excess that'd dripped onto my frame and i loved the way it looked!!! Not glossy but just nicer and newer and cleaner!!! I've achieved the same results using armor all wipes or spray as well. My bicycle is my only transportation therefore i see it as no different than if it were my car. And i treat it as such, try to avoid scratches, damage, keep it clean and nice looking. ☺️
For the first hack, using the cut in half valve cap you can make an adapter to get sealant into a presta valve (with the core removed). This works well with stans sealant especially if you have large bottle and no injector.

To keep the cable after turning them back together you can solder it together with a electronics soldering iron😉😎🤟🏻
