"Some say that our fate is tied to the land, as much a part of us as we are of it. Others say that fate is woven together, like a cloth, so that the destiny of one person intertwines with those of many others. It's the one thing that we all search for, or fight to change. Most never find; but, there are some who are led."
Brave could've become a coming of age story. It could stop where it does, but it could easily have a sequel, (as long as Pixar is doing it). B'coz she gets the freedom she wants, is a natural leader, when she calms every1 & changes their view, (which is a new found talent). Now all she needs is an opportunity to find a place in& begin to create an impact. I've always wondered what would happen if she wasn't Queen. [Note] If Disney finds this, I plead that #1 They follow the example of previous Pixar movies when it comes to the way they structure movies,& if that's not good, look @ Mannie Frank's 'Maturing w/ Your Audience' to get insight. #2 Do NOT make her a Mary Sue! (I'm feminine, so I can say that). #3 Let Pixar handle it 100%. They know how it's done. (Nod to Coco, Up, Toy Story, & Brave. They may not all have sequels, but are loved movies). I'm no writer, but (if Disney wants positive feedback), these things are the people's opinions/wants. And I recommend watching 'Why Shrek is the Perfect Sequel' if you want more info on what I think's a good idea. And think of how kick ass the soundtrack would be if they did make a sequel.
It has been around 3 years sense I watched this movie/heard this soundtrack, and I have once again fallen in love with it. It's so, so beautiful. I love it so much.
I cry like a baby (good crying tho) whenever I listen to this kind of music. I think it has to do something with a past live or something. But especially this song makes me really emotional... Weird uh?
Susanne Posma Im Scottish.. the reason is because the ''old'' music has so many wonderful instruments like the violin and the bagpipes but hey if it makes you emotional think what it does to us Scottish lads and lassies. anyway it really connects everyone together glad you like it =)
@@elsakristina2689 he shall plant in the hearts of the children the promises made to the fathers, and the hearts of the children shall turn to their fathers. If it were not so, the whole earth would be utterly wasted at his coming
Jeanette Rubio it's Celtic music. Some of the people onboard the Titanic in real life were Irish, so I guess that's one reason why James Horner decided to give the soundtrack a Celtic vibe
I get goosebumps listening to this music, I swear everyone down here in the comments saying the same thing.. this some past life shit happening here man no joke
Incredible movie Amazing theme, editing and music is simply amazing Great job staff and director Music from Scotland, Ireland amazing sounds from awesome instruments Greetings from FINLAND
One of the best recent Disney movies. Brave and Wreck-it Ralph, I have to say, are so original and awesome with tear-jerking endings and a point other than a prince/princess love story, and I'm SO glad Brave wasn't made with an out-of-place, anti-climatic, and annoying song every five minutes...*cough* Frozen *cough* And then, of course, there is Frozen, which was immensely more popular than either of those movies (and still is. I can't go ONE DAY without hearing or seeing something about Frozen) and yet I couldn't even watch it a second time because of the music. The story was awesome, I loved the characters (although Olaf was completely pointless), but the music ruined it. The music in Brave? Nothing but EPIC. The one song that is actually sung in Brave? Makes me cry every time I hear it. I almost have to hope Disney doesn't make any more musical movies...because I think they've lost the touch.
Each to their own I guess. I personally think the music in Frozen was one of the highlights of the movie, and I didn't enjoy Wreck-it Ralph at all, but that's just my personal opinion. I will agree with you though, the music in Brave is totally epic, and yep, it makes me cry as well, especially at the end where Elinor changes back to a human.
And just think...Frozen is getting a second part. Not because it was incredible and tear-jerkingly memorable, but because merchandise from the first movie sold so well and is STILL selling well...
I luv this movie af, brave will always be my number 1#movie, plus they're movie looks 99% real, it's my favorite movie, my second favorite movie is the princess and the frog :)
If you guys like this but want something a little heavier, let's say Celtic music mixed with heavy metal, check out Eluveitie. They're amazing, if you don't like the first song you hear, keep searching they have over a decade of music out there. I love them.
I am hispanic and probably have no past ancestry related to this type of music whatsoever but it is still such a vibe dude feels like running on a field and looking over a cliff, feeling the wind on your face
I feel passionate about this music (Scottish, especially in this film) for some reason; I love listening to it (and the film to be honest) over and over again.
@@Sparklyghost704 yes exactly. Sequels always ruin the original. Frozen 2 I never saw but I heard it ruined the first movie, Lion King 2 was terrible. Pocahontas 2 strayed from the original story.... little mermaid 2 turned Sebastian into a crybaby.... Mulan 2 sucked... I rest my case.
Arthur Moe-Mux-Hagi some people were talking about wanting a second movie. but i also believe that some movies are just better off without a continuation! :)
Does anyone know what genre of music this would be called? Celtic music? Gaelic music? Medieval music? I cannot for the life of me find anything like except in other video games and movies.
You can _hear_ the Highlands in this. Can easily imagine the deep valleys, forests and mountains.
Its just so peaceful to listen to
Yea

John Powell is a genius. His scores for the Bourne films are tremendous.
Too shame the movie wasn't a great success, it would be good to have a sequel! JUST LOVED BRAVE!

Im still waiting and praying and hoping... I really love this movie
I love how quickly the change is from the epic theme to the quiet, calm and soothing bridge.

Having Patrick Doyle do music on a pixar movie about scottish people was truly genius
Amo esta melodía...me llega al alma, a la piel y a los huesos!
I love this movie. It was so amazing and it makes me proud everyday to be Scottish and I wouldn’t change it for the world. Love Scotland! 🏴

Aaron Wares It gets me emotional, as does Norwegian music, because it reminds me of my ancestors

one of the best scores for such a sensitive movie.. so subtle, gentle... simply noble..
Just noticed Mordu on the background. :3
FarFarAwayTonight haha i just looked for it lol
FarFarAwayTonight :D me too
Also noticed the wisps lead to Mordu. It kind of forshadows her fate.Since they lead to your fate and fighting Mordu with her mother was her fate.

love this ost!
I REALLY LOVE THISSSS
some of this soundtrack reminds me of Braveheart
that'd be because they both take place in Scotland so the musical instruments are the same/very similar to keep the originality of the country
LadyAmalthia15 Yes they keep to the originality of the country but Braveheart is nothing but codswallop historically.
Katie MacIver Yeah, I know, it's sad really lol
it's 2017
still waiting for its part 2
Disney wth are you doing?
Hirosada Utsokoto
In my opinion it's best if could leave the film alone....
Nearly 3 hours before Thanksgiving in 2018, where's part 2
2020.. still nothing

why is the last comment on this 3 years ago? This sound track is amazing and should be listened too all the time.
Now this, this is proper Scottish music. ( I was looking for some lovely home-country songs :)
sehr nice
très belle musique
Best music
Epic
This piece just _sounds_ like wind cutting through misty valleys and hidden glens
For some reason, I want to listen to the soundtrack of "Dinosaur" now.
Just don't watch the sequels/prequels. It doesn't matter how the other people see the franchise, it comes to you how to appreciate the movie.
if you listen you can hear harry potter noises......until they throw the bagpipe in there so you don't get suspicious
This video really needs more comments

+Franco Arámburo in all likelihood, Aulos.
+Franco Arámburo I think it's the uilleann pipes
+Franco Arámburo 'tis the uilleann pipes, indeed. Likely the predecessor to the great Scottish bagpipes. I love them.
Out of tune violin combined with pipes
Whenever i here that music reminds me of the medieval Ireland
