V definitely got the vocals and the vibes! He is the kind of artist who is not afraid to take the focus off of himself and allows the instruments to shine. He is truly a musician's musician!
These songs are from his solo album Layover. There are 5 songs and each one has an MV. It is recommended to watch them in album order as he is telling a story. It should be noted that he has called the album Layover because... like an airport layover is a small stop before the final destination... this album is with songs written by other people that were given to him that he really loved... his end goal is to release an album of his own music. He did have 8 songs he was going to release but was not happy with them yet, and as he wanted to give us an album before he enlisted he decided to record a shorter album Layover. The order to watch the MVs is Rainy Days Blue Love Me Again Slow Dancing For Us If you would like to check out some songs he has written... here are a few of them... Sweet Night Winter Bear Blue and Grey Snow Flower Scenery 4 O'Clock Christmas Tree (I think he has 19 song copyrights in total... some he has written for BTS, some are OSTs for KDrama's, some are just songs he gave us as gifts for free) Have a great day💜
There are a whole load of Tiny Desk US and Korea concerts. The whole point is that they’re live and intimate and relaxed hence they’re filmed in an office/ home type environment. I watch this over and over. It’s so comforting. V loved doing it all and working with a live band and singers. He didn’t do any grand concerts for his first solo album. He just wanted to do more intimate shows. He didn’t do any promotion at all in the US or the UK but he did go to Japan to do the First Take Show. The video is on here. It’s live with only one take allowed - warts and all. V’s voice was perfection. Thanks for the reaction. Really enjoyed it!
Wow, you reacted to V's first live performance of his amazing album without first finding out more about him or about how Tiny Desk performances are staged. You robbed yourself.
@@eap-fj Wouldn't say so tbh reading the comments, learning info, retaining the knowledge and rewatching are pretty enjoyable for me (guess I'm odd idk lol)
@@TEEJ-9 quite! So we don't hear Michael Jackson's. We hear beautiful, emotive and powerful vocals with amazing stage presence. Which is hard to find in the world.
"Layover" by V is an introspective album that captures the essence of transition and self-discovery. V's emotive vocals convey a deep sense of vulnerability, yearning and the album's exploration of fleeting tranquility.
What you are talking about when he says "I", that creaky vocal sound, is called vocal fry. He and Hobi (j-hope) in particular use vocal fry a lot and I love it. It's so emotional. Jimin uses these little sighs and cries that are cousins of vocal fry and also makes his singing really unique and emotional. Jin has a breathy quality to his singing that is super emotional as well. Jungkook just has a perfect, round pop voice and perfect pitch. He is a vocal chameleon and can sing almost anything.
This is a live session with a band he uses and there his songs from his solo album ! Tiny desks are always there own songs RM got one to with a small band!
Thank you for this heartfelt reaction! Tiny Desk is usually "comfortable"; Killing Voice is usually the excerpt/medley format. Namjoon did one for "Indigo". Tae did a really interesting range of promotional activities for Layover, often tied into the videos on terms of styling. He has written and scrapped so many songs that we weren't sure we'd even get the album, but it is one of my favourite vibes. Borahae from the UK.

So many comments already, so I will agree with most of them and agree that Tiny Desk are so comfortable. As well, the same with RM. It’s interesting how you hear the vocals and another reactor who plays rums notices the drums. 😂 That’s what makes your reactions interesting! Yes, he played a tiny bit of saxophone in another short live. This may spoil, but V said in a show that he was also trying to get the vibe RM got musically with RPWT. V and Jazzy blues fit so well! I actually do listen to this album when I need to relax and then listen to Suga’s when I need a harder vibe. Not the best way to describe it. Sorry. 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜🇨🇦👏👏👏🥰
Hey Teej! Tae's voice is like being wrapped in an honey blanket in front of a chimney after a long day at work : Warm and sweet with character which procure a comfortable satisfaction. My only bemol for his album Layover : way too short!!!!
Tae’s Layover album makes me calm and centered.. it takes away the chaos in my head at times.. his voice soothes my worries.. loved how he did the Tiny Desk, one of my fave promo he did.. the band is impeccable! love their takes on the songs..
I find all the Tiny Desk concerts super comfortable. RM has one for Indigo and then BTS did theirs back in the pandemic. NPR is so great and I love how each of the mini concerts are so different.
