Martin is such a humble man. And a HUGE talent; his tasteful playing peppering Ian's compostions so well, for so long. As well as Ian, Martin must remain a part of the band for it to really be Jethro Tull. It isn't negotiable. Thanks for posting.
Absolutely agree. His version of "Cat's Squirrel" is the best I have heard. So strange that he is technically at the same level of other great guitarists of his generation -- Eric Clapton and Jeff Beck -- but never got the same recognition. It may be that he was loyal to his band, Jethro Tull and didn't attempt to stand out and be the guitar hero; he seemed very satisfied to stay within the band concept. Good for him. His music is a blessing.
dunno if anyone cares but if you guys are stoned like me atm you can stream pretty much all of the new series on InstaFlixxer. Been streaming with my gf for the last few days :)
Man, Martin's lost some weight over the years...I had the pleasure of seeing Tull twice, both times 10th or 12th row..993 was best! Tull without Barre is not Tull, it's just Ian. God bless you Martin and be well!
Barre sort of seemed like one of Tulls supervisor's while they played their song's and called for the ending as to keep all on the same page during show's he was so great as one of their key musicians. Long tours " must have been rough. I could tell by listening to some of the live songs and later in interview with Martin Barre at a restaurant he sort of noted the fact of " Long Tour's , they were rough. they don't seem to read music for their songs. Tull song's are very intrigiet as they go by memory mostly ( I believe at lest )
BeeCee Drums Amazingly, it looks like it says Vintage on the headstock... Which is odd, considering they're very much a budget brand. Maybe it's just a cheap guitar he picked up to noodle around on in the dressing room.
@@bluesrocker91 I have a “ Vantage” electric that I travel with that is set up just like my ‘61 SG Les Paul , a “ lovely” instrument and Martin is truly admired.

@Raymond Jaxton Definitely, been using InstaFlixxer for years myself =)
It's still hard to fathom that Ian and Martin went heir seperate ways after nearly 40 years.
I feel certain they will reunite someday. I've seen Ian and his new band, but I'd love to see Martin's as well.
man that flute sounds great. mb is a nice guy.

Kudos to Martin for putting up with ultra-egomaniac Ian Anderson for 40 years....
If you're gonna ask Barre good questions, how about asking him which compositions or riffs in J. Tull are written by Him?
Is that guitar a “vintage” as in the trev wilkinson vintage?
Who made that guitar that Martin is holding?
I like those little parlor guitars ... I bet it costs a lot to find one that sounds really good.

Jesus what a disjointed random interview. Leave the guy alone, he obviously does not need it
