My first computer. The speech sythesizer was amazing for its time. Best game on the TI994/a was Parsec, a sideways scrolling shooter I could still have fun playing today.
@@adammoss5284 i have found a emulator here, but i dont know much about emulate this machine. www.99er.net/emul.shtml You’re right the TI99/4a is 16 bit but not for all functions. Only internally it has a 16 bit bus.
I think the Texas Instruments TI99/4A was a good computer, proper design and well manufactured. But if they would have chosen another microprocessor it could have stayed longer in business. Maybe it was fantastic, maybe it was okay, but most of all it was relatively unknown and therefore unloved. A stupid simple microprocessor like the 6502 has till this day a large group of enthusiasts that all come to the conclusion that their beloved 6502 is silly, old-fashioned and totally unwilling to do the work in a correct way, but they love it any way. If Texas Instruments would have made professional TI99 computers for their professional measuring equipment department then maybe they would still have been in business. Real mistakes were made with the TI99, like the pricing and the market the aimed at. Only a few would survive at the games market and Texas Instruments was not one of them.

Nice. Yeah the specs are ahead of its time
I remember the machine well and also parsec. Is it possible to emulate this machine now I wonder? This was 16 bit wasn't it. Amazing for its time.

My first computer.
Great computer. Nice to read. Thanks for sharing.
10 PRINT "HELLO WORLD"
20 GOTO 10
😊
You can't print a goto statement! :O)
You wrote, "20 PRINT GOTO 10" - you just needed 20 GOTO 10
Yeah i know. That’s the reason i mentioned in the video that I typed garbage at this day. 😉

Много микросхем и видно очень не слабое железо для того времени.
