Them answering his trumpets - We hear you and we’re on the way. Maybe there are some, but I can’t think of any other mammal group that would exhibit all of these behaviors. A lesson in just how important every single member is. Truly touching.

Much impressed with Tokwe and Sebakwe’s encounter. She turned and faced him, he backed off like a true gent! Such a treat to see Somopane up close. He is truly majestic😊

I have learned that male elephants are normally lonely wanderers while females stuck together in groups. Is it possible that Fishan can not hear so good that he has lost contact? It is said that elephants can hear everything over miles far away so it would be no problem to find back to the herd later. He is a big bull. And yes, Khanyisa: As I wrote in a former video: The baby turns left, everybody follows left. She turns right, everybody follows right. As a true princess does. :D

Yes, it was a real action adventure suspense vid today - with a happy ending! Very Hollywood and everyone is a star❣️Actually, I think Lammie is the director 🤔
If Fishan used low frequency rumblings (which carry well over long distances) to alert the herd, and the herd responded by loud trumpeting, is the herd telling Fishan “We’re coming to help you” and at the same time warning any predator “We’re coming - watch out!”. It’s a very scary sound, especially when you know they’re really big but you can’t see them until they’re close 😱
I’m new here. Where have you been all my life? I live in Tennessee near an elephant sanctuary in Hohenwald that takes retired older ellies that have been used by humans like in circuses or logging, etc. They get to live out their old age without human intervention other than veterinarians as necessary and carers that see to their appropriate food intake and help them enjoy life as they wander thousands of acres with ponds and lakes. There are seperate Asian and African areas. They eventually bond with other elephants. Altho I support them financially along with thousands of other people no one is allowed to see them. They do have cameras set up. Anyway it is a treat to watch your herd in the actual African veldt and learn their names and personalities. I’ll be back!!
Welcome to the best place on the internet. The elephant sanctuary near you sounds like heaven for these hardworking, retired ellies! Imagine what a relief it is for them to relax and remember what it is like to live closer to their natural life. So happy this place exists!
Fishan is quite the character! I was happy to see the video when he recovered from a broken leg. That took a lot of care and love to heal that leg. I've seen other elephants that don't get that kind of care and it can be life-threatening. Fishan is an important part of the herd, so all the ellies noticed when he began trumpeting in concern that they'd moved ahead. It's amazing how well they communicate over long distances. I love this herd and am so happy Khanyisa is with these great elephants and human beings! It's the best place for an orphan elephant.💕
Really enjoy watching them play in the water. It must feel great to such a huge and heavy animal to be able to be sort of weightless. I wonder if family is even that much more important to a herd of orphans?
It is more important to orphans. It comes from a deeper feeling in the heart. An idea of the deepness, is like being born in your country or being naturalized by it. Those who come to a country from another country, then become citizens of the new country, are perhaps the most patriotic citizens of their new country. So it is with orphans. But to clench the deal, to make it a full circle deal, the new family or country must accept the new member as their own. Never again to be introduced as orphans integrated into a family(I'm not speaking of animals such as khanysia) but as a sister, brother, son, etc. Once intge family Noone is a orphan and should not ever be introduced as one.
I am happy that Fishan was reunited with his family without any injuries. This video demonstrates how important each one of these elephants are to their herd. Very inspiring.
Nós podemos sentir a preocupação dos elefantes e dos humanos quando um da manada se desgarra, meu coração ficou apertado ... Quando vi que um cuidador o achou e está voltando fiquei tranquila
Khanyisa looks so impossibly small walking alongside the adults. Fishan seems to have lost his concentration briefly there for a minute. Get sidetracked, Fishan? I do that a lot. The duck in the water was interesting, didn't seem to mind sharing with the elephants. I love watching all the herd lined up together. They are so impressive! Good video, as always.

What do you do out when a storm comes along? Do you and the elephants try to go for cover? How do you protect you selves and do the elephants just stand in the storm? Lightening?
Elephants making waves in their pool party. If one listens to the sound(when the herd plays with water making waves)with eyes closed..it almost sounds like the sea waves on a seashore! Glad fishan got found out by his herd after all!
Relatively new here but after binging a bunch, I've started to notice there'll be a vehicle in the area. Not advertised but I suspect these walkabouts are always escorted and the muscle stays on the fringes, generally out of sight of camera and so as not to interfere with herd movement. But predator or poacher protection readily available. Could be wrong but they are in Africa and not an enclosed compound. 😎
Got a bit worried did Fishan hurt his leg again, fortunately not. With ears and trunk like that, one isn't likely to accidentally get lost from one's herd. Can hear (maybe smell too) each others kilometers away. And they all know that area so well, easy to find the others. They just wanted Fishan to rejoin the group.

That was an unusual experience. It shows how tightly knit the herd truly is. I'm glad that Fishan was alright - not like Mambo's overnight adventure! 😉❤🐘
The carers are so insightful. What are the statistics of carers going from carer to veterinarian or even higher positions? Are there programs in place that allow such transitions?
It is very difficult to get into veterinary medicine - you need the highest grades from school. As in any complex organisation there is a hierarchy of positions and they can move into management positions.
What a day! We've got everything. Anxiety, suspense, search and rescue, success and relief with lot's of water play! What a day! Never a dull moment! Beautiful family dynamic. Thank you Adine and HERD
Oooawh, what a scare for everyone! Especially Fishan! He must have been so grateful upon seeing the carers and of course, the rest of the herd, finally. Thank heavens everything turned out O.K. Thank heavens! To see 3 & possibly even 4 such huge elephants completely submerged all at once is just, . . . I don't know, amazing in a way. Sebakwe, the Olympic swimming medalist of the group.
Yet another Beautiful Shining example of 🐘’s dedication to Family. Also, depicting their Compassion, Empathy, Intelligence, and Loving nature. If only some humans would follow these same Glowing examples of Wildlife ~ Our World 🌎🌏🌍 would be in a much better place! Thank you for sharing❤️🙏🌈🌺
Oh I did miss one episode! What a great responsibility to be with the elephants out in the bush! Thanks to the carers for their great effort day by day.
What about snakes as you walk through the brush and grass? I assume elephant skin is to thick but human skin? Glad they answered the call to each other. Love to all.
OH Fishan calls with trunk the herd hear Fishan and answer with trunks I am glad Fishan is not hurt he was I think eat leaves and the herd walk away. But the herd knows and they come togher thank you carers it is so important that carers with by the Herd.

The COMMUNICATION between FISHAN + His HERD is QUITE AMAZING!!! The OBVIOUS LOVE+ CONCERN They have for one another is to be ADMIRED👏👍💯❣️ The RELIEF,JOY + HAPPINESS To Have FISHAN Back with THEM at the DAM is CLEARLY UNDENIABLE🤣😂💦🐘💚 Ich Liebe Dich SEHR ALLES🐘💚👱♀️👨🌾👩🌾🐑💞🙏
I love how elephants 🐘 love! Humans could take lessons out of their book!!!
My father used to think he was great when he collected ivory. My new saying " no tusk for you"
Only tusks for elephants 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
@@herdelephantorphanage Your message has been HERD load and clear. ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you for sharing this beautiful video❤
I wish I could literally take a walk with herd to dam every day. In my heart I’m with them today.
Me too!
why is he wearing a mask outside in the sun in a tropical country?
That's actually a good ❓ question! Probably, just a requirement for EVERYONE.
Good question!
Good questions! Carers expanding their knowledge and skills is a natural thing and I hope it is possible for all who wish to do that.
Absolutely!
It is very difficult to get into veterinary medicine - you need the highest grades from school. As in any complex organisation there is a hierarchy of positions and they can move into management positions.
And I hope the carers are well paid.
Great question.
Sweet Limpopo comes to check Adine. Is there something interesting in Adine's knee?
It looked like Limpopo was exploring the tear in the jeans. 😊
Do you ever run across snakes when you're out in the thick like that
Glad Fishan is ok. I couldn't stand it if Fishan got hurt. He does his best getting around with that broken leg.
Thank you for the lovely visit with the herd, missed you! Xx
I’ve missed them too. Didn’t they look fantastic?
@@jacquelineganske7809 Oh yes. 😊
More great scenes of the herd - always a pleasure and privilege to see what they are doing. Good to hear from their carers. TFS
What a day! We've got everything. Anxiety, suspense, search and rescue, success and relief with lot's of water play! What a day! Never a dull moment! Beautiful family dynamic. Thank you Adine and HERD
😢..God bless u
and you as well! 🥰
It’s funny. How do you lose an elephant? Ha ha
Wow..magnificent animals so massive 😍such privilege to watch from new Zealand 🇳🇿😍
Does it happen often, that they get lost?
lol, who's that LITERALLY video "bombing"?!?!? lmao!
Sebakwe at around 9-10 minutes. It's hilarious seeing somebody that huge acting like a little boy at bath time.
Kaynesia , love 💘❤💕♥💖
Oooawh, what a scare for everyone! Especially Fishan! He must have been so grateful upon seeing the carers and of course, the rest of the herd, finally. Thank heavens everything turned out O.K. Thank heavens! To see 3 & possibly even 4 such huge elephants completely submerged all at once is just, . . . I don't know, amazing in a way.
Sebakwe, the Olympic swimming medalist of the group.
Sebakwe definitely knows he’s the mightiest and loves to show his strength in the water 💦

I wonder if Fishan alerted the herd because he knows he can’t hurry to catch up? More of a “ hey everybody, wait for me!” ❤️🇨🇦
Yet another Beautiful Shining example of 🐘’s dedication to Family.
So happy everyone is safely back together and "Mom" can finally enjoy a splash. Just love watching this HERD.
What about snakes as you walk through the brush and grass? I assume elephant skin is to thick but human skin? Glad they answered the call to each other. Love to all.
An MIA. The search party was on it. Mission accomplished. All is well. Celebrate!
They do seem rather excited or high energy do you have any idea why? Or maybe just the excitement of having to find Fish earlier??
OH Fishan calls with trunk the herd hear Fishan and answer with trunks I am glad Fishan is not hurt he was I think eat leaves and the herd walk away. But the herd knows and they come togher thank you carers it is so important that carers with by the Herd.
