One of the most interesting selection of ww2 aircrafts I’ve seen in a long time . Sometimes I have the impression that 50% of model airpanes are either Spits or 109’s , there are so many more différent types , camo schemes , etc that it needs to be reminded to us modelers from time to time. Congratulations, very nice picks and pics !
hello again @KLOSTER777 i have another 26 such haul vids featuring a rather eclectic collection of 1/72 aircraft and pretty standard 1/35's have been building a stash over the past 6 months in preparation for what i am calling BIG PLAN, which i will be starting in a few days, hope you have chance to watch this novice modellers journey regards andy haul video playlist link. studio.ruclips.net/user/playlistPLq7NxxVyTV6BA6YmZ164tnVXg6FKr83Cd/videos
hi @daneshivers2921 and fair respect to you and your stash; yes well my stash is a bit insane and much treasure has been spent, TBH i started the channel as a bit of a laugh in February with no RUclips experience throwing Spitfire kits together in 15 minutes or so, i kinda thought a few people would watch but didn't really expect many people to take much notice. Obviously a few people found this "muppet who makes models badly" slightly bizarre and slightly interesting, which TBh was a bit surprising. Obviously RUclips pay people who make content, though there are a myriad a hoops and obstacles you have to negotiate, Now anyone who starts this Youtubing lunacy and says "i am not interesting in having my channel monetized" is full of crap. i always thought "hmmmm maybe, in a year or so" but my channel was monetized near 4 months ago and this was a genuine surprise and now RUclips throw a few pennies in my direction for every vid, (roughly 1/6 of a penny per view) so it isn't much, the whole point of my stash and the Haul vids which have had a significant effect on views and subscribers is to feed BIG PLAN which will be starting this week, with 7 kit reviews from my collection of 30 Finnish WW2 aircraft, hopefully you guys will vote via comments and tell me which kit to build and on my next 4 days off hopefully a half decent completed kit will be spat out. The 500 odd kits in my stash provide great thematic variety (Dutch, Czech, Swedish, German jets, Italian, Russian, 8th Army vs Afrika Korps, motorcycles, truck of all nations etc etc) and provide the possibility to allow viewer engagement in the build selection process, that is why the stash has grown so quickly. Obviously if i complete only 1 kit per week well thats 8-10 years of RUclips content; the hope is that during these 8-10 years of building and hopefully continued growth of the channel, RUclips will eventually pay for the kit collection that has cost me so much treasure to assemble, i get to have fun building kits, chat to you guys on the comments section and at some point i may be able to drop the "Novice " from the channel name and change it to "mediocre" LOL.
i also have a rather eclectic collection of socks PMSL. episode 2 of "Mickey's Model Barn" will be up at midnight, the definition of eclectic in my Humbrol opinion LOL.
ANOTHER GOOD HAUL ANDY,THE MOHAWK P36 WAS USED BY THE VICHY FRENCH AIR FORCE IN NORTH AFRICA AGAINST THE ALLIES AND UDED BY THE GERMANS.THE BU 181 WAS USED IN THE MOVIE"THE GREAT ESCAPE'.TAKE CARE
Nice haul as usual. Yesterday I visited "Red Star Hobby" here in Ho Chi Minh City. Only one word for it: Phow-aar. Old kits, new kits, rare kits, all packed very... very tightly into a small shop. Prices about 30% below King Kit (but a little inconsistent). I had to be very disciplined, but couldn't help but think: "What would Andy do?" 🤔
Andy is having to learn restraint @lllordllloyd as storage space and treasure are not infinite. andy managed to endure 3 days in Cornwall surrounded by 5000 kits and only bought 8, my last therapist quit on me, my new one see's light at he end of the tunnel.
hi Andy, I built one of those AML Curtis hawks way back in about 03 - 04, it definitely had the feel of a short run kit, and I think had some resin and photo etch parts, my version was an early war French one and it did build into a pretty nice model though, and given the fact you are no stranger to short run kits I'm sure you'll enjoy that one!
@philsmodelmaking2260 another viewer has mentioned this and i have checked it over this morning, one standard sprue, looks nice, lots of small resin parts, and a vacu form style canopy................i like the box PMSL.

LOL @mh53j i used to struggle to explain my other hobby cycling, which can be kinda expensive to my ex, i used to struggle with her shoe and handbag collection, though she did introduce me to wearing brightly coloured socks, which always accompanied her latest shoe purchase as a sweetner for me, i now always wear brightly coloured socks though i now mismatch them, wear them ODD-ish (same design different colours or same colours different design) in her memory, she was a bit OCD and that would really annoy her PMSL.
I'm a sucker for puns, and your customary sign off of 'be seein' ya' made me think that you should be modelling aircraft of the Abyssinian Air Force. I had a quick look on Google and found some interesting information about Haile Selassie personally advocating the formation of an air force and wanting to be the first Abyssinian to fly in an aircraft. I don't know whether it was ever called the Abyssinian Air Force rather than the Ethiopian Air Force, but it did have some interesting aircraft and some nice markings. Again, I don't know whether any kits are available with the markings, but, if not, it shouldn't be a problem to get someone to print some transfers. My fertile imagination visualises a diorama with some Rastafarian personnel, but that might be a bit anachronistic. Best wishes.
Morning @georgeclements2742, LOL i have no idea how you have linked "Be seeing you" to the Abyssinian air Force and Haile Selassie, but i love it. I actually lifted it from 'The Prisoner' a TV series from the 60's starring Patrick Mcgoohan. I think i might have to investigate the Abyssinian/Ethiopian AF and see what they had.
Love the Fiat G50 and it makes into a lovely little model. The later moulds need a bit of ‘constructive hacking’ to get the cowling to fit properly, though. The earlier moulds (in light blue plastic) don’t have that problem.
hello again @jefthing glad you like the Fiat G50, as per my rather bizarre interest in the aircraft of smaller European WW2 air forces i actually have 3, airfix x2 and an AML the intention here is to mark them up as Italian, Croatian and Finnish..............at some point over the next 8 years PMSL. Hi Andy. I think that when you decide to drop the Novice Modeller tag you might want to change it to the name on that business card. I like the colour scheme on the Potez and the first colour option on the Hawker Hart. You wouldn't believe that theMohawk went on to become the P40 Warhawk. The Heinkel 111 is one of the later toolings so that should be a good kit. I think that Nova made a Airspeed Oxford so maybe its the same tool. The Triang is a new one on me , I didn't know that they made aircraft. Your a sucker for the Ventura kits but hey ho , thats your thing. I can remember that old Airfix Fiat from when I was a kid. Not one of their best but they are quite rare now I think. The Archangel thing is just another Russian thing but to expect that to dive bomb was optomistic but who knows , can't say that I,ve heard of one. Now the V Dub. Not technically a VW. That comlany didn't exist till well after the war. They were actually called KDFwagens. They were found by a British officer and then used by the occupying british as staff cars. Apparently the Brits offered them to Ford but they didn't want them. Big mistake. They were also offered to the other Allies too but again no takers. So the Brits helped the new German government set up a factory and began selling them to the public under the new name VW. The rest as they say is history. If yo ever buy a saloon version try and look for photo's of a British staff car version. Build one of them for something different. Nice haul. Good luck bud.
Hi Brian, yep the mohawk looks nothing like its relative, The Oxford nope its one of the NZ garage kits so think sprues like Ventura and you'll get the picture, the Triang was found by accident just looking for a fokker, i have two of the Airfix fiats and one by another manufacturer so Italian, Finish, Croatian, the Archangelski thing is an upgrade of a standard Soviet bomber who's name escapes me. LOL the KDF is a VW Beetle, your info is correct of course though i cant call it anything else LOL.
LOL @Jimmythefish577 no sane person buys Ventura kits, i built one in March, i messed it up BIG time.....kinda on purpose the whats in the box and complete 37 minute struggle/build are below, now if after you watch and still want to try one of these "things" you can go to JAYS model kits in New Zealand and buy one of their reboxed versions of the old Ventura's that are still produced with the same moulds/toosl on Malcolm Laird's hand made in his garage Injection moulding machine. i have one of these also sent by Jays over from NZ ruclips.net/video/p_jyuOuz67Y/видео.html ruclips.net/video/mNBE08dT3iQ/видео.html jaysmodelkits.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=65_71&disp_order=8 the thing about them is the story behind them and that if you put the time and effort in apparently (i have seen photo's), steal a few bits from another kit, they can be quite stunning, though they should really come with some sort of mental health warning LOL.
Pretty eclectic haul, as we've come to expect from you Andy! I'm in the market for a decent P-36/Hawk 75/Mohawk and was looking at the AZ kit but that seems to have quite a lot of issues according to various reviewers. Would be interested to see how that AML one goes together.
Morning @VenlyssPnorr the AML comes with one large sprue, comes with many smaller resin parts and a Vacu form style canopy............ hmmmmm nice box though LOL.
Was going to suggest the KP one (Finnish) but meh its just an AZ rebox, i'll be putting this with 5 other Finnish fighters on the bench next week as the 1st installment of BIG PLAN, they will all be "whats in the boxed" the build choice will be down to you guys so it has a 1 in 6 chance of being built next week-ish

Hello there @cnfuzz and thanks for watching. Not sure where you live but i live in North Wales the nearest Model shop is 12 miles away in Chester their range is limited and they are expensive, after that i am in Liverpool or Manchester as far as i am aware. the thing about them is the story behind them and that if you put the time and effort in apparently (i have seen photo's), steal a few bits from another kit, they can be quite stunning, though they should really come with some sort of mental health warning LOL.
@@TheNoviceModeller lol....I guess I'll keep looking!
😭😭standard issue welljell lad 😭. Loved the Beetle truck and Archangel uber jell of the Airfix HE 111 ,should of got the Motorhead version 😂😂 met Lemmy in a pub in Los Angeles a pleasant fellow 🍸🍸
LOL @steve1315 now i have seen the Motorhead He111 and did think about it, unfortunately it just wouldn't sit very well with my 1/32 Iron Maiden Spitfire, which i got for Cnhristmas last year and is the kit that started all this insanity off.
@@TheNoviceModeller another welljell kit lad everybody's favourite Lucozade seller ( phantom of the opera) Have seen young Eddy Head @ De montfort hall and Donnington rock on lad 👍.
Nope but the Spit comes with a couple of Eddies and has 666 in the serial number LOL.
@@TheNoviceModeller y'all gonna do a unboxing video for this?
am thinking of using it for my Christmas build as it's kinda where the Novice Modellers journey started
A good bundle here, Andy... so much for your inheritance (lololol) BTW, as you collect 1/72 let me know if you ever want to part with (3) Frog DH Comet racers, please? Thanks, Dane
Thanks @daneshivers2921 no inheritance, just hard graft and a sprinkling of added lunacy. 3 Frog DH Comet racers?????? nope not got any of them
Very nice haul....your postman must feel the same way about you as mine does😅😅😅
The postie hates me, the cardboard recycling fella's have filed an official complaint, my bank manager is very concerned and my therapist quit on me.
@@TheNoviceModeller 🤣🤣🤣I'm fortunate to live in a street full of pensioners....they are always in when the postie calls, and consequently they all know what I collect!....some of the parcels have actually been helmet shaped!!🤣🤣
@steelhelmetstan7305 just had an image of a brown paper wrapped ww1 pickelhaube flash into my brain LOL.
@@TheNoviceModeller 🤣🤣🤣honestly....I had a deactivated SMLE ,Lee enfield rifle , delivered a few years back...they are supposed to be discreetly wrapped , I suppose not to get anyone too excited...anyway it went to one of the old neighbours, when i knocked on the door she said, 'is it a gun' , I was about to make a sort of white lie up...she then produced the parcel....it was just wrapped in brown paper, in an SMLE shape, you could see the stock , the outline, everything....I'm only glad they didn't stick the bayonet on the end!!🤣🤣🤣
i imagine the bayonet may have caused a delay at the sorting office if it had been attached LOl.
Hey Andy, I know I say it a lot but the variety of kits you find just aren't found in the colonies. Of course Airfix is not rare, the the types of aircraft and kit manufactures are. A good example of the variation on modeling based on geography Cheers, Bob
Hi Bob, variety is the spice of life, so they say, though i keep stumbling on new manufacturers, bought one today, looks bloody terrible, though i think i will be revisiting a series i started and stopped a few months ago called "is this the worst model kit ever?" pretty sure you will agree this look like a right steaming pile o horse shit LOL.

@@TheNoviceModeller very interesting, that appears to be what we'd call " coyote ugly", shame because the actual air craft was pretty good. If you built it soon it might go into you Guy Fawkes celebration. After all the kits you've collected I think you've done very well. Plus i bet you can build it out well.. hopefully it's not like a vintage wine that has a bad cork.. How's " Mike" coming along ? I want to start building a B58 bomber, but haven't found a process and paint to get a nice shinny aluminum look. They say Alclad paints work but haven't seen what I'm looking for. Standing by for the next reveal" Cheers BOB
No idea Bob, judging by the box it should be awful LOL.
👍👍
thanks
@anjkovo2138
Hmm, why have my posts been removed? I was extending a helping hand to assist if you find any of your Tasman or Ventura kits have missing or broken parts. I see that you are a customer of ours at JAYS Hobby Products, glad to have you as a patron. We could add a link to your YT channel if you like. Get in touch if we can help. Best regards, John.
hello there @johnstone2255 and thanks for contacting me. I have become aware recently of some irregularities with using the Y/T comments section, mostly when trying to pass on contact details to viewers or vice versa, also two viewers from the U.S have raised similar issues with leaving comments and them occasionally not appearing, very curious. Yes i did purchase a couple of kits direct from you a couple of months ago, i have developed a bit of a fascination with Ventura kits and later became aware that you now produce them from the original Malcolm Laird equipment, i have about 15 Ventura/Tasman/Jays kits in my collection. Very kind of you to offer your assistance and the possibility of a link on your website. Would be interested to have a chat with you. My email is available on my channel home page and i will add it as an additional comment in this thread.
Best regards andy
Be seeing you.

Hello there @Rowan331 and thanks for watching. Same thing in a different box.

kiwi-land is No.2 on my "places to visit and go cycle touring before i die" list.

You pay to much for your kits , look locally , typically you will spend less than half .
Hello there @cnfuzz and thanks for watching. Not sure where you live but i live in North Wales the nearest Model shop is 12 miles away in Chester their range is limited and they are expensive, after that i am in Liverpool or Manchester as far as i am aware. Much of what i buy is hard to find, unusual decals etc, I use ebay mostly, the prices i quote are inclusive of P&P and when i find something i normally compare the price from other ebay vendors and sometimes cross check against online retailers, so if you can tell me where i can get kits for "less than half" i'd be very interested.
