Hi Randy, another brilliant application of Excel. Even though I already use payroll software, so won't be using yours it is still interesting to learn your techniques. Unlike most of your apps, I did notice one error in your logic. On the deductions of taxitems with yearly maximums, you didn't take into account the case where the YTD was under the maximum, but after the current payroll is added, it will exceed the maximum. You need to use the min function to compare the Calculated Deduction & the difference between YTD & Max Cost.

I do not have a video on how to create backgrounds, however once you sign up for midjourney you can create a prompt such as "blue abstract background -ar 16:9" as the ar is the aspect ratio, then you can download any one you like, increase the site, and once in Excel go to "Page Layout" and then "Add background" I hope this helps and thanks so much.

Hello! I have been watching the video and have downloaded the file. I am not able to get some of the drop down functions to work. For example, under Selected Pay Period Employees, it will not let me filter by Employee Type and Pay Type. The options are there and the drop downs are there but it is not filtering based on my selections. Can you please advise? Thank you

How would you treat empl. replacement here? as example: ID 32 decided to leave, ID27 will be promoted to that role, for ID27 we plan to have open position with 2 months vacancy (recriutment period)?
Hi and thanks you can make employees inactive and they will no longer show up. You can also add fields such as position for employees. This way only certain employees are displayed to be paid. Pay rates can change at any time. I hope this helps and thanks so much.

I’ve downloaded this and not sure how to remove the preloaded employee information and add my employees from the start, it would have been nice to have downloaded a empty file bs preloaded but with instructions on how someone new to use this.

Did not see anything on end of year tax reporting . W-2 reports etc. Also did not see anything on printing checks.. just the stub info. The tax info could be interesting because of how pay periods sometimes overlap calendar year beginnings and ends. So someone could be paid in first week of Jan and the income is reported in the new year based on the date of payment, although the earning period would be the last week or whatever in December. So the issue of YTD calcs may need to be reviewed since YTD usually corresponds to a tax reporting year. Did not watch all your calcs to see what you actually do but just raising some issues that occurred to me.

Hi and thanks you can make employees inactive and they will no longer show up. You can also add fields such as position for employees. This way only certain employees are displayed to be paid. Pay rates can change at any time. I hope this helps and thanks so much.

I’ve downloaded this and not sure how to remove the preloaded employee information and add my employees from the start, it would have been nice to have downloaded a empty file bs preloaded but with instructions on how someone new to use this.
Hi and thanks very much Diamond. You can highlight the cells on the Employee sheet and use the Delete key to remove the employees (Just make sure to keep the headers)
Since these are free templates used for training purposes, I don't have a ready-template however that is something that I will create very soon since a lot of people have the same requests. Please make sure to watch the training video to help you understand how the worksheet functions.

Hi and thanks, did you have a question concerning that period in the video?
Did not see anything on end of year tax reporting . W-2 reports etc. Also did not see anything on printing checks.. just the stub info. The tax info could be interesting because of how pay periods sometimes overlap calendar year beginnings and ends. So someone could be paid in first week of Jan and the income is reported in the new year based on the date of payment, although the earning period would be the last week or whatever in December. So the issue of YTD calcs may need to be reviewed since YTD usually corresponds to a tax reporting year. Did not watch all your calcs to see what you actually do but just raising some issues that occurred to me.

There are literally hundreds of features I would have loved to add to this however this was already a 2 1/2 hour training so i have to have some limits. Dynamic fiscal years being one of them. Just some ideas and maybe a Part II. I realize some issues because I attempted to do a payroll type app in Excel and realized it was beyond doable. Tying in to IRS onloine systmes for withdholding reporting and direct deposit stuff was beyond possible.@@ExcelForFreelancers
