Fun fact: the "flute" sound is a traditional Japanese instrument called a shakuhachi. It's actually also a lowfi remix of a cover from the anime Naruto. Lowfi is some good stuff.
Love the story. Excellent send! However I'm curious about the ethics of the area. Is it acceptable practice in Boone to build up landings (stacking logs), as well as obliterate rock located in the fallzone? I acknowledge your intentions were not malicious, only to properly mitigate your risk. My goal here is to understand what the acceptable ethics are with respect to development and the applications of risk mitigation vs preservation of natural settings. Thanks!
typically in nc in general if there's a particularly heinous landing like that it's ok to build a minimal landing, this being such a highball (for nc) tho it definitely makes sense. Maybe a little overkill but I don't think anybody would have big issues with it. Idk about boone tho, they like their ethics up there.
This is definitely one of the best climbing videos out there
That opening track is so good!

I Was bouldering in Watauga County before you were born....and you definitely lost points for breaking the rock on the landing. Lame.
