    You had me subbing at the title of the video. 😊I got here from Katie’s(Paperback and Ponytails) shoutout. I’m a Christian BookTuber, but I am also a homeschooler. I’ll be homeschooling 3rd, 6th, and 8th next year.😊

    I love the flexibility of this curriculum. 😊 I haven’t used it, but might at some point.

    I have watched every single video on this curriculum and I'm so close to ordering the ancient books but there are still a couple things holding me back. Number one, the text seems like a LOT of reading. We will only have 2 days/week to do history next year so I don't think we'd get through the Remember the Days book. And tying in with that, I've always done history through literature so I'd be tempted to use many of the books on the book list, which would be even more reading! I wonder if I could rely more on the literature and less on the textbook and it would still be a cohesive year of history? Ahhh I just can't decide. I do love how they line up the history readings with Bible each day. That is what was missing for me from SOTW. My kids will be in 8th, 6th, 3rd and 1st next year.

      What I would suggest is maybe use one of the other spines. They have many options in the family guide like Story of the World, Mystery of History, and others. I do love the Remember the Days book! But it would be a lot to get through in 2 days, so this would be an option. Then you can add in whatever literature readings you want as well as other resources that Biblioplan offers. It really is super versatile!

      @@ourthriftyhomeschool why don't you include your younger kids with the reading?

    This was so great. I’m really thinking about getting biblioplan and awesome to get to use your code! Are y’all going to stick with biblioplan for US history, geography, government, world history for high school? What ages are your girls? I’m trying to figure out if our little ones 3 and 5 year olds will have a hard time tagging along. I know they have coloring pages but would you say the readings are engaging enough for younger ones to get anything?

      Biblioplan is really great for family style history! My girls are in 9th, 7th, and 5th grades and I have a son who’s in 2nd. He’s struggled to pay much attention when we read the history aloud in 1st grade. My daughter who was in 3rd at the time sat and listened, but I would say she was able to engage and listen. I’m not sure how much she retained. Ages 3 and 5 would be hard. But the coloring pages would help!
      Yes I plan on sticking with Biblioplan for high school. 😁

      @@ourthriftyhomeschool thanks for this explanation. So helpful. What do your younger ones do while then? We’re using MoH right now and we really like it but struggling to figure out high to tackle high school with government, economics, US history and such. Wondering if we’ll need supplement materials or find another program like Masterbooks that has a US history and government programs.

    Second comment here….
    Also, is this US history or world history? If a high school student needs a credit in each, which would I use? I can’t do all four years, he’s in 10th next year😬

    • @ourthriftyhomeschool
      @ourthriftyhomeschool  Год назад +2

      This is world history and us history combined. As for credits, I’m not in the high school boat just yet so I’m not sure. I would suggest emailing Biblioplan to ask them that! They are super helpful!
