  • Pseudo Echo are an 80's New Wave band from Melbourne Australia and are probably best known for their cover of Funky Town (originall by Lipps Inc.)
Listening was released in 1983 as their debut single. I think they used a Roland Jupiter 8 / MKS-80 on the original with an Oberheim OB8 for the bass (confirmed) and lots of Simmons drums.
For my cover I used a Roland Jupiter 6 with various linn and simmons samples to arrange the drums.

As someone posted earlier, the original band (Pseudo Echo) employed an Oberheim OB-8, Roland Jupiter 8 and Sequential Circuits Pro-1 (monophonic Prophet 5). They also used an Arp Odyssey and a Wave PPG. Drums were electronic Simmons - SDS-5 I believe. String Electric Bass replaced or complimented synth bass on some songs. Electric guitar was there of course. The SCI Pro-1 was often triggered by a Roland TR-808 Drum Machine - achieving a super tight driving rhythm. Saw Pseudo Echo many times live. Incredible live sound - better than their recordings I would have to say. Great period in Australian music

I hate the way so many great Australian bands from the 1980s like Pseudo Echo, Real Life and Mondo Rock were completely unknown in the UK at the time, and we only know about them now because of RUclips.

Yes the great movies and music kept a lot of people satisfied and free from crimes. It’s what today’s teens need. Real music and car and community and fellow man respect culture like the 80s had way more then the 2020 onwards crime scene. Get the kids skilled to work and cultured again. Not woke. Wake up to real reality go be content and go out and achieve something great good for the world and yourself

I'll make you work by requesting "Love An Adventure". ;-) (I STILL have that CD from when I bought it in '90/91, replacing the tape I had since '87...a great album!) Good job on all of these vids, man...this one, We Close Our Eyes and Enjoy the Silence are my faves! :-)

The did use a oberheim ob8 and roland jupiter 8. But for the synth bass they used a sequential circuits pro one. Also I believe they did not use an mks-80.

hey man sounds great but that cord in the main chorus hood isn't an F - the notes are G A C - so its almost an F but not quite. Otherwise the sounds are perfect!
