    I’m
So glad you are participating in the world tour. My friend Trudy in England and I are
Doing it together (we met through one of your yarn swaps) . I am in Virginia Beach. ONLy 1 American has chosen a pattern so far! I wonder if it is because our postal
    Service is
    Slower?
    Using scraps is
Perfect. I am using my scraps
    For
    The
    Last time. I am
Sick to death of them!!! I will mail them
Off to a young woman in California who uses them to make garments for her crochet business.
    Thanks for the video! (Kareb)
Oh… I have been donating all my shawls to a Catholic Church that has a prayer Shawl ministry!!! I was so excited to learn of this. I felt like what a perfect donation. I sorted them into fiber and left them at their church and now as I make them because I like making them I always know where I’m going to donate it and that it will be loved and used in such a, divine way no pun intended. I’m going to post a picture of all of them that I donated in your Facebook group to let you know how I control my stack had become.

I think scraps for amigurumi is great, that's what I prefer to use. The foods are cute even without faces. I need to make that pie for the grand-kids' food drawer. The turtle head will go on better and be more stable and secure if it's turned the other direction...as in...start or stop end toward the body. Foam roller in the neck...great tip! I like specific eye placement as well.

I’ve made 10 blankets to send to Boggy Creek camp this year. I’m on disability, so making blankets for charity gives me a small purpose. Just a thought if you get tired of amigirumi.😊

Hello Summer ❤ I'm so excited that you have joined the ami world tour! Can't wait to also add your macaron and pie to the journal. The US book has only been with 1 person so far, and I really hope it will get moving soon (I do know about the delay, but luckily the European book has kept things going 😊)
My mouse pattern is being tested at the moment, so I still only have the 1 bear pattern on my Etsy 😅 But you did a fabulous job on the bear! And I love that you're only using scrap yarn.
I think I am permanently on my amigurumi phase, and almost none of my amis go to children (I regularly gift to colleagues, friends, family...all adults 😂)

Hi Summer. Your makes are so cute! The plastic canvas is a great idea. I've used cut up pieces from lids from margarine containers before, but the canvas would be better. I think it was Cassandra that said she puts a bunch of her amigurumi in a basket and takes them to work. Anyone can take one. Perhaps put some in the school office. For the smaller ones, you could add a key ring and call them back pack buddies, for your classroom bin. We all enjoy watching what you make. I just got that book, and hope to be able to make some things for my craft fair event in August. My once a year thing. Have a great weekend😀

I’m impressed with your scrap amigurumis! They turned out so cute! I’ve made probably 5 amigurumis over the past 2 years. I have to say that making them isn’t my favorite thing to crochet. They are so tedious to make due to having to be so precise with your stitch count. But the recipients really loved them, so I guess that’s all that matters!😉

Hi Summer, first time viewer here. I’m also doing the world amigurumi tour! Although I too had the book already, I’ll be receiving it in the post and am one of the last International crocheters to receive it (in Australia 🇦🇺). I also like the fact that it gives me something to focus on when I’m overwhelmed and don’t know what to crochet! I also love Cassandra and her videos 😊 Jenni ~ new sub 😉

-I'm #17 on the US book tour - patiently waiting in northern MN.
-I made the rainbow bear in light turquoise and didn't like the heart on the nose so omitted.
-When I winter in AZ, I donate items of various sizes to Partnership with Native Americans which distributes to reservations in the southwestern states. There may be something similar near you
-I also crochet items for future grandkids.

I am sorry I kept putting it off. I do have some pointers for you. When I first started I let girls 9-12 be in the club. I will say though most of the 9 and 10 year olds really struggled. I didn't let more than 15 girls in the club at a time, and I had two helpers (who knew the basics of crochet).
For the new kids I used worsted and bulky weight yarn. The smallest hooks I had were Hs (5mm). but I most of them I had on 6.5mm and 6.0mm
The first day we changed. I even had contests to help them change (with prizes) 1) who could make a chain of 50 first. and 2) Who can chain the longest in 40 seconds.
Once everyone was good at chaining we spend to lessons working on single crochets and slip stitches. Most of the girls never got past a half double crochet.
We made scraps and hats. So they only had to do straight rows.
      I hope this helps.
