Hmmm, I wonder how the ES 2 and 4, even the HD 2 would work as a standalone audio interface with the Akai MPC Key37 Standalone. The ES Series seems to be class compliant (w/out the use of an external power supply), however the HD 2 does look like it as well but with the need for a power supply. In addition to that, will the Control App be needed, and/ or useful in the Akai MPC Key 37 as a standalone? Meaning, would I also be able to control the perimeters of the Audio Interfaces within the MPC Key 37? I'm trying to go the routed of DAW-less music creation.
I need 4 outputs but only 2 inputs. The big issue is the software that controls mixes, etc. The Focusrite software as no even understandable. The Audient software won't update the firmware no matter what I do. I'd like a quick way to have a recording mix for the headphones and then a monitoring mix. Maybe ES4 or HD 2.
Is it actual clean +75db of gain though? I've seen in most instances when relying on interface preamps alone, where this claim has not been properly advertised and thus still hearing noise floor when attempting to get a healthy signal for vocals per se.
Of course not. Julian Krause tested this. It's better than Presonus' last generation, way better actually. But still behind SSL in terms of preamps floor noise.
How well are these at driving headphones? The Revelator is terrible at it. Also, it would have been nice to see forward thinking like a compression button to capture great vocals or guitar/bass going into your recording. These interfaces look nice, but as a bedroom producer, it would have been really great to see more ease of use options on these interfaces.
@@tri-unetrl3966 I stand corrected. I plugged my guitar into one of the front guitar inputs, and added an AUDIO track, and it did the auto gain staging for my guitar from there. Thank you for the correction.
There's some half decent hand flapping in this video. To take it to the next level though, it needs to be at chest-level or above and slightly more 'swishy'. Do that and it'll qualify for the Flailing Kite Mark.

For someone who is already a Studio one + member. How does he benefit from it when he buys Quantum online?
On the website it says you can use the subscription for next year's subscription.

Can this auto gain stage instrument tracks inside of studio one???
Yes, the auto gain will gain stage inside of Studio One from the instrument input. (I just got the HD2)
@MrTurnerNVA
Are you sure about "instrument tracks" because I tried, and it didn't seem to work for some reason. 🤦🏽

How it's compared with Motu M4 in terms of latency?
@@Charles13X Would you share more details?
Sounds like a competition to Ikmultimedia.
Is that dsp ?
Nope, big mistake presonus ditched the fat channel..
