This was a GREAT little demo of this simplistic touch circuit - I loved it!! ♥️
Thanks for sharing AND teaching us!!

It also highlights why you often put a 10k resistor from the Gate to ground.

I am definitely including this in some upcoming builds! Thank you for the explanation!

You could very easily use this to turn on a high voltage circuit. Use an opti coupler to isolate and a relay for high voltage. Maybe a lamp.

cool! looks like a nice way to simplify led circuit switches.

For high power loads, 10-20mA will energize a 40-100A solid state relay (SSR).

Make a video lesson about the differences between using Depletion VS Enhancement for FETS, when would you a circuit want to use Depletion and when would a circuit use Enhancement?

Wouldn't the charge stored in the capacitance of the mosfet eventually be dissipated and the mosfet turn off?

What's the minimum VCC voltage required for this circuit to work?

I did it on 5vdc. You might get it to work on 3.3vdc, but it's not enough to fully open the gate. Really, 5vdc isn't either, needs about 9vdc if you want full current flow on the MOSFET.

I have tried this exactly as you show it.
But mine is very unstable, only works randomly.
    How can that be?
    I have it on 5v

I read his other comment they work in 5v but prefer 9V maybe your mosfets a little lower spec

Please make new video of a DELAY ON TIMER circuit using bc547...
ON time should be delayed for 30 seconds.

Instead of the LED you could have it swiching a transistor that switches a relay.
