even the interviewer was perplexed🤣🤣. "we name a tree not because it is a tree but because that's what we can describe" makes no much sense to be honest and that was the end for me.

But its true though. Humans compartmentalize and contextualize things. Like for instance, art. And you cant correct someone for what they view you as. If someone views you as just a friend for advice and not someone to hang out with, then you cant change that.

I hear you. Although this is not the bone of contention; Metaphors are figures of speech, which is used to describe actions in the likeness of something else. E.g I am drowning in work - you are not literally drowning, in this case “drowning” is a metaphor for the overflow of work you have to get done. I believe what you mean is the interpretation of the Bible can be “subjective”. I am no theologian, so i will say yes, to an extent. but this is not a free reign. In my experience as a christain, the Holy Spirit explains a lot of things to us and also our pastors, their entire job description, is to understand the stories of the Bible and present it to believers in the right context, helping us understand the nature of God! Finally, the message of Jesus Christ is to Believe in him and his words or Not Believe. There is no compulsion in Christ. If you do choose to believe,God will make himself abundantly clear to you, I say this from my experience. You will not miss it! Regardless of the numerous false prophets, they are still people that are living for God and doing his work on earth!

This video will not make any meaning to people who don’t have critical thinking abilities. One needs to be a critical thinker to be able to question the status quo so as to emancipate oneself from the mental slavery and illusion of religion. Unfortunately we have so many religious people without spirituality. The conversation between the Samaritan woman and Jesus gives credence to the fact that God is neither in the mountains or in Jerusalem. God is spirit and those who worship him must worship Him in spirit and in truth. Unfortunately such people are few.
God has no religion. Religion is created by men for the purpose of subjugating fellow men to perpetual fear and suffering,. Religion is a social institution created by men and imposed on others.; a belief in other peoples’ experiences. But spirituality is personalized, and comes with a deep sense of sublimeness, veneration, awe, because of the beauty, nobility, grandeur or immensity of the encounter with the source energy. The awesome God, not the God of the Old Testament, who created this beautiful world is an epitome of love, mercy, compassion, forgiving and awe inspiring. This is the Gods that Jesus came to introduce to us.
Again, if one takes time to observe God’s creation and see the beauty, the rhythms, the coherence, the harmony, and compare it to the chaos and disharmony in the teachings and doctrines of the different religious groups in the world, one would realize that God is not anywhere near there, for He is not an author of confusion.

I am no theologian, just a believer in Christ and Jesus himself says “you search the scriptures because you think it will give you eternal life, but the scriptures point to me!” (John 5:39). That is to say everything you read and see in the Old Testament is of God and they point to the coming of Christ and what he will do in and for our lives. We cannot discredit the Old Testament and hang on to Christ of the New Testament, because all Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, [nkjv 2 Tim 3:16] . That is to say all of it is valuable for any of the above. It is okay that some of the ways of God confuse us. I am often perplexed as well when I read some of the things in the Old Testament which God allowed. But the difference is because I believe in Jesus Christ and because I believe he is the son of God and he is God. My disposition then becomes to search for understanding

But I want to round up and say, the entire message of Jesus is to BELIEVE in him. Believe that he is the son of God, Believe in his message of Salvation. If Jesus himself read the scriptures (old testament) and taught on it, but we say we don’t believe in the God of the Old Testament then do we really believe?
