- Less perch this year, but some jumbos! I guess big fish often don't move fast. My buddy Brad (instragram: Sagesteppe_carping) fish Scooteney Reservoir. Weird day weather-wise, but #blessed for our time on the ice.

Thanks for the invite out on Scooteney. Hopefully next year there will be better ice and our ice season will last much longer.

Good choice in Nissan! Our ‘07 Titan has pulled our large 9000 lb RV ALL over this country without a hiccup. She just hit 200k and still going strong.
I just started fishing for/eating perch and crappie this winter, and I got to say it is amazing! I have been missing out all of these years! Yellow perch is definitely a favorite of my wife and mine. Thanks for the fun videos Blake, I sure hope to go over and fish some hard water some day!! Tight lines to you my friend!

Awesome video! Gotta love ice fishing. Usually when the ice is frozen solid in the morning and night time is the safest time to drive because the ice actually has some grip unless its really bad. Once it warms up mid day and you get that layer of water on top of the ice that's when ya start sliding.
Either way tho solid ice is a no go unless its an emergency.

Those are some really nice size Perch, and I'm sure good eating. Well worth sitting on a bucket on a frozen lake in the middle of winter. You deserve a lot of credit for sticking with it Blake.

You can get them in the daytime, but they seems to become much more aggressive after sunset, when their eyes give them a hunting advantage.
