No offense to the new guy but I'm skeptical about this. I saw him on tour with AC early 2019 and he was struggling with his breath control on the "old" songs and absolutely no range variations at all. I know Mark was a beast but that's a crucial point for AC and without those nasty vocals variations, it sounds bland. I hope he can work on that. And the mix makes it sounds no different than every Deathcore bands Will Putney produces. Happy to see them back but they look like a complete different band now and the alien thing seems gone for good. Still looking forward to the album.

Vocally, dudes Mids are solid, but there isn’t variation, which does leave me wanting more. Jayden’s drumming has taken another step up, he sounds fantastic imo. I’m pretty stoked to see where this new era of AC goes.
Take a listen to pretty much any track off their last album, Xenocide, and you'll unfortunately see how much of a drop off this single is. Specifically "Erebus", "The Soulless Acolyte" or "Prismatic Abyss". Their previous vocalist had an insane range and wonderful rhythm, and all of the instrumentals were fresh and exciting. It's one of the most solid deathcore albums and really stands out, whilst this fades into the masses.
After a few more spins I'm starting to see the Aversions in this. Behind those vocals and lyrics this is still so fucking good. Just a shame Mark would have taken this from an 8 to an 11.
