Edit: Fine, it's not a review; that is indeed the job of mainstream scrubs as I wouldn't want to take away their target audience. Just to set some expectations this video will cover some of the "quick" upgrades I've made to the AKX which are transferrable from the AKM, the design intentions with reference to the GHK 74U and also the TM AK Storm. Correction: The RSB is not a replica of the KOP, I believe Occam Defense made one named the RST and there's the European version made by WBP. Also my dumb ass forgot that I uprated the trigger to around 4 lbs. and didn't make part.2 of the trigger tuning video
Quick overview of the AKX, apologies for speaking fast as I need to get this video in on a work week evening and don't have much time lately to create new content. I shot this video completely unplanned lol
I'm not going to do a range test since the inner barrel and hopup group are identical to the AKM so you should refer to existing testing done of the AKM by others such as BadaBing and the Japanese reviews.
Instead, I'm going to look into the triggerbox compatibility and the bolt carrier to see if these are drop in fits with the AKM; they are.
Since the grip anchor is a single piece with the rear trunnion with the dust cover fastening screw, you will have to use a slightly longer bolt but not too long as the screw threads is only provisioned by a nut rather than being tapped into the anchor itself. For the Magpul grips, you need to replace the screw with a M5 bolt with 20mm of screw thread length.
Note: The AKX is not a chassis system as it would imply a monolithic design of a handguard + dust cover or at least a cantilever rail section. Examples of AK chassis systems include the Sureshot Armament Group Mk2, Mk3 chassis for AK and the CAA XRS47 rail system. The AKX is a combination of a railed dust cover and a rear sight block with a native picatinny interface, the front rail system is still a complete standalone

This is so cool I do want to add a ak to my airsoft collection next airsoft purchase has to be a gbbr no more aegs 😅
Just be warned: Once you go down the GBBR road, AEGs will never feel right again lol. An electric whine will never compare to the THUMP of a GBBR. 😂👍
what feels better to shoot GHK or TM. I can buy second hand both right now for a good price.

Hey when wearing big goggles or a full face mask are you able to look down the irons?
Is it possible to remove the piccatiny rail for the stock to use a regular ak stock? Or is it fixed in place.
Stock, railed dust cover, RSB and handguard system are an integrated system. Replace the stock which has the dust cover tensioner and you need to replace the RSB, dust cover and the entire front end since the AKX handguard is bolted into the RSB

I slapped a PA 1x MicroPrism on it but the reticle is all wrong... ended up putting my old trusty HS503R back onnit in subsequent photos if you see them floating around
How about an actual quick review? Like how does it perform stock, what gas it wants, accuracy ;)?
Point is that it is internally identical to the Marui AKM and there is no point doing a review of the shooting performance and this was clearly stated in the description and in the video that there will be no range testing. If you want a review of the performance of the AKX, refer to reviews of the AKM.
Also Hong Kong does not really have many proper venues to conduct a proper range test, something I won't be able to arrange on short notice since I got the AKX on a work day evening just 1 day after its local release and this video was pretty much unplanned.

no... completely different systems including the frontend assembly. If you want a similar look just look for one of those SLR repro kits that Dytac makes
