I was a 22 HCP about a year ago, the big thing that helped me was increasing my confidence and knowing that bogeys are good, pars are great and birdies are worth celebrating, cheers, and have fun golfing this 2024!🎉
Of course bogey are great, if you pull of 10 bogeys, 8doubles you still broke 100. And play a preffered lie if you can, put ball out of divot make yourself life easier (its not cheating, even most tournamnts in good conditions allor preffered lie, also put mud off your ball)
This is so much better to watch than all the insta and RUclips bro’s who think and act like they are playing Sunday at Augusta. This is how golf is for the majority of players.

Club up, Dennis! The percentage shot is to take the longest club that you can stay on the green with, and don't worry about the pin. Especially in cold wet conditions, the ball will not fly as far as you would like, and spin will be less. Next, work on alignment. You have plenty of power, so alignment will help get you on line and reduce the tendency to pull across the line as you swing.

Solid round in wet conditions. I watched a video of yours from a month ago and you've improved dramatically. Next year you're going to smash your scoring. Love your great attitude and the fun you have on the course! I've learned the hard way that on any putt 3 feet or under the break really has to be severe to give up the hole. It's rare they'll break that much. P.S. Your course management is much better than most!

Brilliant content as per! What I respect most about this channel is the level of handicap and commentary while playing. Even the scratch youtubers are affected by it - and it seems to come natural for you. This channel will be a 100k-er in 2024 for sure.

I’m going through this now. I’m playing much better hitting straight drives but still only shot a 98 as my current best round. Short game, course management, staying mentally in it for 18 holes and not letting the inevitable duff shots mess with you is the hardest thing but absolutely needed to break 90 and so forth

Great round! First time seeing a video from you and I really enjoy your love for the game. Wanted to mention that shooting pain you are getting down your arm to your wrist could be carpal tunnel. Do you notice your hand falls asleep a lot when you wake up? A simple brace for sleeping and some stretching exercises for carpal tunnel could help.
Enjoyed watching your round Dennis. Hope you don’t mind me commenting but for what it’s worth my observation is that you were a bit ambitious with your club choice in to the greens. When you landed on the greens many shots were a club length short. It’s winter, cold, wet conditions so the ball isn’t going to travel as far. Other observation is with many of your shots you fall on to your back foot trying to help the ball in the air. Try 60-40 weight on your left side and keep it there.

@@BogeyGolfUK last time I played there was Boxing Day last year. Conditions similar to yours on This day. Glad to see they have made some safety improvements as the 6th and 7th holes were pretty treacherous when we last went with slick wooden steps not matted. Think your game has really come on loads this last year mate and the Mizuno irons are a world apart from the Stealths you used to game!
#1 tip for improvement has nothing to do with ur golf swing - bring more food to the golf course. those last 6 holes you were pooped and lost quite a few strokes because of this. On track to break 90 with that front 9 golf, staggering stuff 😮🙌
Nice video. But you must know even if he broke 80 off yellows/winter tees it means nothing. So much golfers with fake handicaps ect not playing full yardage of the course. Id say in winter don’t think about scoring just practice for summer.

Been playing a year and a half and similar handicap to your good self, looking at trying to get to 18 in 2024. your front 9, certainly consistency wise was way better than handicap. I wasn't sure that 54 for the chipping on slow greens was the right club, but that said, your contact was good. Seeing you with a 2 iron sent shivers down my spine, thats a tough old club 😂! Good job, loved the round but like myself, pitching let you down a bit. So, I have been practicing in the back garden because of the weather by using the techniques taught by a golf coach called Dan Grieve with his 3 releases pitching. I'm loving having the confidence to hit better approaches onto the green and not like before, needlessly flicking my wrists to help the ball fly. It's well worth a visit to his site, no matter what your handicap, I hope it helps you and anyone who needs it. 👊

Great round given conditions and your game is coming along nicely, again, a small observation, your feet alignment appears on camera to get further and further closed (pointing right) causing those initial draws which then began to turn more into a hook. I was consistently shooting 95+ but just the other day I played and relaxed and I shot my lowest round of golf 81 I was amazed because I never thought I could have done it but I feel like its really practice that makes life easier when playing golf.....to me a 92 is amazing

Just so you know, whenever the ball is plugged or you take a drop, meaning you are allowed to pick it up, I would recommend to clean it. It makes such a difference and its allowed
High Dennis just subscribed to your channel.. Live your positive outlook. Only advise without being with you as far as I can see, is most of your bad shots are a result of you getting weight on to back foot at impact. Concentrate on getting weight shift on to front foot. All the best for your future rounds.
i'll give you a tip that will help you, you shouldn't really be trying to hit a 2 iron with a high handicap, try switching it out your bag for a 3 wood, same with your 3 iron, swap it for a hybrid or even a 5 wood, you will be breaking 80 in no time. Good to see people enjoying golf no matter the handicap.
Just subscribed, love the vibes! I'm about an 11 and remember grinding up from where you are now. I think once you get your tempo down, better weight transfer (you can see your balance is all over the place) and maybe fix your alignment (your stance is extremely closed, which forces you to have to clear your hips and shoulders early just to get back square with the ball), you'll get more consistency and better results. Keep at it fam, rooting for you!

Just subscribed great video bro! I started playing in june and have got myself down to 19 handicap with just using youtube tips. Working on short game was a huge help but im in a sticky patch where if my driver is hot im hitting in 80s as i drive around 250 average if not im in the 90s as i struggle to get distance with my irons! Looking to work on that for the new season
Hey man great video. Im off 20 so know the struggles. When im playing solo I generally try go out with it being A) a practice round and B) ill try to pick a part of my game to focus on for that round. At the moment its from 120 yards and in, so ill play my original ball and score that one, but if I hit a bad shot, ill throw 2/3 balls down and try to improve on my original ball (unless there are people behind me ofc). I find this useful as the lie is different from a range mate etc. Keep it up!

Good job, loved the round but like myself, pitching let you down a bit. So, I have been practicing in the back garden because of the weather by using the techniques taught by a golf coach called Dan Grieve with his 3 releases pitching. I'm loving having the confidence to hit better approaches onto the green and not like before, needlessly flicking my wrists to help the ball fly.
It's well worth a visit to his site, no matter what your handicap, I hope it helps you and anyone who needs it. 👊

Great round given conditions and your game is coming along nicely, again, a small observation, your feet alignment appears on camera to get further and further closed (pointing right) causing those initial draws which then began to turn more into a hook.

I was consistently shooting 95+ but just the other day I played and relaxed and I shot my lowest round of golf 81 I was amazed because I never thought I could have done it but I feel like its really practice that makes life easier when playing golf.....to me a 92 is amazing

Just so you know, whenever the ball is plugged or you take a drop, meaning you are allowed to pick it up, I would recommend to clean it. It makes such a difference and its allowed

Live your positive outlook. Only advise without being with you as far as I can see, is most of your bad shots are a result of you getting weight on to back foot at impact. Concentrate on getting weight shift on to front foot. All the best for your future rounds.

i'll give you a tip that will help you, you shouldn't really be trying to hit a 2 iron with a high handicap, try switching it out your bag for a 3 wood, same with your 3 iron, swap it for a hybrid or even a 5 wood, you will be breaking 80 in no time. Good to see people enjoying golf no matter the handicap.

Just subscribed, love the vibes! I'm about an 11 and remember grinding up from where you are now. I think once you get your tempo down, better weight transfer (you can see your balance is all over the place) and maybe fix your alignment (your stance is extremely closed, which forces you to have to clear your hips and shoulders early just to get back square with the ball), you'll get more consistency and better results. Keep at it fam, rooting for you!

Just subscribed great video bro! I started playing in june and have got myself down to 19 handicap with just using youtube tips. Working on short game was a huge help but im in a sticky patch where if my driver is hot im hitting in 80s as i drive around 250 average if not im in the 90s as i struggle to get distance with my irons! Looking to work on that for the new season

Hey man great video. Im off 20 so know the struggles. When im playing solo I generally try go out with it being A) a practice round and B) ill try to pick a part of my game to focus on for that round. At the moment its from 120 yards and in, so ill play my original ball and score that one, but if I hit a bad shot, ill throw 2/3 balls down and try to improve on my original ball (unless there are people behind me ofc). I find this useful as the lie is different from a range mate etc. Keep it up!
