- www.DragRacingT... Drag racing video from the 2009 March Meet, Nitro Nostalgia Funny Car class. This is the second round of qualifying, from the first event on the NHRA Heritage Series drag racing tour.
This video was shot in high definition, with surround sound audio that you can hear even on RUclips, as long as your computer is hooked up to a Dolby receiver.
Here are drag racing videos of all of the rounds. Because there were so many funny cars in attendance, there were two seperate eight-car fields in the elimination rounds:

man im only 48 but was 12 in 72 and was lucky enough to have a mentor who turned me on to drag racing!i cant get enough of those old funny cars .thanks!!

@adam31957 That Jeep was driven by Leah Pruitt who came back to the March Meet in 2010 and beat a 32 car field for the win at the ripe old age of 22! She licensed in Top Alcohol at 16 and Top Fuel at 18 and has never looked back. I've had the opportunity to talk with her both at Sacramento and Bakersfield a number of times, and a more down to earth human being you will never meet.

5.85...that's really good for the nostalgia cars. The modern cars have advantages that make them faster. Some of it is just plane ole aerodynamics. Those two big side windows open grab a lot of air I can imagine LOL. Awesome show. Love the nostalgia cars. The modern top fuel funnys look like eggs with a flat back. The decals kinda make em look like real cars but not by much. The nostalgia cars aren't exactly real car bodys but they at least have a bit of shape to them.lets see em on tv

there were something like 31 top fuel funny cars in the pits, and maybe 28 of 'em made it into at least one of the qualifying rounds... then there were two seperate eight-car fields for the elimination rounds.

Keep coming back to this video. This full volume on earphones is about the closest you can get to the sound of real racing without actually being at the strip. Picture quality's great for youtube too..
Hey! great video!, this Nostalgia Funny Cars, are more pleasure to see than current ones, because now they look like nothing!. The nose of a Mustang, Charger, Celica, but the rest? are so xtranges. This ones look more like the original cars with a long nose, Great!!

they have to have the chassis certified . i think it's only certified for a certain amount of time . then you go with another one .

my dad buddy is friends with the guy with the 69 GTO with the flames on it, the drivers name is Dennis Lacharite i think thats how you spell his last name
nitrous doesn't nessesarily make a car better. theres a lot of of things needed for a cars to have nitrous and not blow the engine. first you gotta modify the engine because you can't just put a nitro on a stock engine. you gotta get forged pistons, valves, cam shafts, and crank shafts. you also have to modify the transmission to handle the increased speed and torque. if you have a late model car you also have to modify the computer. video games make it seem so easy to put a nitro on a car.
