There are just different bass players to choose and they may or may not be better than Charles. But hey! Its your opinion and i respect that :)

This isn't his rendition though...this was the rendition from "FunTwo" made on guitar 13 years ago called "Canon Rock" or something, and Charles is just moving it to the bass guitar with some of his own embellishments.

I bought a Glarry GIB in that exact "burlywood" finish a couple of years ago. Still sounds great and really suits my slap & pop playing. I definitely recommend it for beginners or hobbyists.
That was the first bass I ever bought. It played great until I made the horrible mistake of bringing it in to guitar center for standard maintenance. They found a way to ruin it and it never played the same. Had to get a new one But great starter bass for sure

Back to the 2008, I was at junior school and watched the Rock Canon video in the summer vacation. I was just blown away by it and decided to play guitar and music from that time.

Charles, here's an idea for something else you could try: A cello. See what happens if you apply your bass playing technique on a real cello. Maybe challenge Hauser to a duel.
My training bass was a Glarry jazz I bought used for $150 and it's a fantastic bass. Its unreal how Glarry makes dirt cheap basses that play really really well! I highly recommend for any first timer. Today it sits right next to my Ltd 6 string.

@James Black yes, what I meant was, Charles always makes these songs way better than the original with lots of impovisation highlighting the strength of Bass. I just noticed he only made very minimal improvisation in this cover as compared to JerryC’s which is why i said it’s almost exactly like it. nevertheless, he’s superb as always🤘

Charles, thanks for this amazingness. "Canon" actually has a followup composition called "Gigue," that is actually an even more appealing tune. Often you will find track listings that say, "Canon and Gigue in D Major by Pachelbel," and some of those will put both compositions into one track (streaming, CD, whatever) but sometimes both compositions will be mentioned but only the first ("Canon") included, and I think that's due to many people thinking "Canon and Gigue" is one tune when it's really two separate yet companion tunes. Anyways, I would love to hear you perform "Gigue," possibly on acoustic bass.
