Labonte's flip was a weight shift roll that also collected a large portion of the field, whereas Mayer's flip was a blowover, and he collected less cars as a consequence of the accident. Additionally, the immediate caution meant that cars began slowing sooner.
i prefer the old format where they take a minute to digest what just happened, instead of jumping into an instant replay. like i understand that people want to see what happened and why, but let it sit for a second, lets see who was involved, lets see the drivers walk away, lets see the rest of the field come to the line. a slower place might benefit the broadcast
Makes it feel more significant.
Allen Bestwick-led broadcast booths are really good at that (listen to his other calls of plate races). Even with so much going on, they generally go with the “less is more approach” and go with less words and let the action speak for itself.
Well in the first one the race wasn’t over because they raced back to the caution flag back then
@@MotorsportsNation i mean obviously, but still the pacing was much slower, not every moment was up in your face.
The more things change, the more they stay the same
2 insane finishes
Wow exactly the same even down to the finish... Strange coincidence, NASCAR 75 💎
I like in those Dega broadcast when they cross the line and just stop at it as the cars pass don’t know why
Oh, 2001 and 2023 ( both flips on the different tracks), and Good both video
I did one like this already. But it's all good
this shows how easy it was to blowover back in the day
that wasnt a blowover, mayers was tho
Two different times and two different tracks
