    I'm getting flashbacks to a family I used to know. They never fixed their cats and 4 became 27 and 2 dogs became 5 over 3 years. There was only one litter box in the mud room off the kitchen.
    All told, this house was about one-third to half as bad as my friends'. When they got evicted and the flippers came in, the smell from the carpet could be smelled for at least 150ft when they put it on the curb. The whole house had to be gutted and redone.

    Why didn't you vacuum before starting to clean? Aren't you just diluting the solid chunks into the carpet? I thought you always wanted to get as much dry out as possible before starting. I can understand not wanting to use a good vacuum, but then you charge enough to buy a cheap one and throw it out when done.

    • @leecarpetcleaning2337
      @leecarpetcleaning2337  3 года назад

      Thank you for the question!
      So we decided, first of all, that we didn't want to trash our vacuum since urine never dries. Urine goes from a liquid state to a residue state. And getting a cheap vacuum wouldn't work well on it either.
      So we busted out our old wand to help eliminate a lot of that residue first, but these turds were so old they were very hard. Also, if the turds become diarrhea, that's gross but not necessarily a bad thing for cleaning and easy to remove.

    • @leecarpetcleaning2337
      @leecarpetcleaning2337  3 года назад

      @@benjaminsalm279 I appreciate the questions, and they are good questions.
      So I'll first say, the owners in this situation NEVER go down in this basement. For years they were letting the dogs go down here and have their way with it. After a long time they realized it was bad news down there, and realized they needed to do something about it.
      Now, since they never go down there, they didn't want to pay to remove everything and replace it since it would cost thousands. So I offered to clean it for basically half of the cost to replace it.
      To answer your questions about the process. Best answer in this situation is 100% to remove all the carpet and pad and replace it. But since they didn't want to do that, we tried the next best thing for cost. The next best thing for PROCESS would have been to completely saturate the carpet and pad with an enzyme product and then extract out as much as possible. However, this would have costed about as much as it would to just replace everything.
      So we decided to extract as much as possible with hot water extraction cleaning, spray very heavy with a heavy odor killing deodorizer, and spray an encapsulant at the end to continue to work even after we left.
      Sorry for the long answer, but you are absolutely correct in your thinking, and just so you know, I was upfront with the customer that this was NOT a solution so this problem, and it would help but not take care of the overall problem. They completely understood.

    That definitely is a bad one. I've been cleaning carpets since 1987 so yes, I've seen just as bad. The poop on that one is definitely way over the top. I've rarely ever seen anything like that. There is a point where it's so bad replacement is the only viable option and that place reached that stage long ago. There really is only trying to make it look and smell better until they pull that nasty carpet up and if they're smart NEVER put another carpet in their home while they allow dogs to urinate and poop all the time. They need a different type of flooring. Carpet of any kind will not work for them and they need to be careful of what area rugs they buy as well. There really is no fixing that problem by any cleaning service on the planet.
