It's like the song shares a melancholy undertone and pace that is reminiscent of Hotel California. The meaning to me is less overt and more more subtle than the Eagles song you mention. This song is more hopefull than that of Hotel California. Moreover, I prefer to deal with my own demons than a stroll throgh the house of creature comfort sarinated by the enticings of the lord of deciet. Whatever the case, I do understand the rhythm and feel the tone you speak of. I prefer Brother Seymour's much more so...
