I am just watching this video. Thank you for this list. As I am a newbie at building the amplifier. I will be building my first one soon. I have been watching a lot of videos. Now I am ready. I just know making my first key up switch. Gatekeeper has a great video on that. And have learned from him most. And he has fixed a Texas Star Modulator Plus V for me a few years ago. Now finally I find this which helps us not only know what to get for the build, We will know how to pronounce the parts when searching them on the ICA website. Thank you so much for this video. I have been wanting to build one that I can use on 10 meters.
You are very welcome, I know the frustration of just starting and trying to figure it all out , and that’s why I did this in hopes it would help people just starting, take care
Big transformers run way cooler.. That's main advantage I see. They don't heat up your transistors. Small ones run hot creates more heat in the box. Smalls ones are fine up to 8 pill. When you build big amps makes huge difference on heat. There's a lot parts in a 2 pill people don't realize.
As said a lot more goes into building but this is probably the first or only parts list online because SOME BUILDERS DON'T WANT TO LET IT OUT. Gatekeeper does a lot of explaining and showing as well as parts list you can download but all builders do something a little different or say build a little differently so don't get several parts list and try to follow it because the values may be different or parts other don't use. The parts list he has looks like Carl built, old export. Older fat boy. Excellent video for a beginner, excellent.
your exactly right on everthing,i hope the builders dont get made at me,i just wanted to help some people that are starting out ,or just want to tinker and learn, thats all iam doing, iam not selling them or trying to start a buisness, just having fun, and wow you called it on the parts list being from a carl built, i have a few carl built amps and i used his 200hd to go buy when building it, ,thanks and take care.
@@frppower1 I don't see why any one would get mad. A person can list every part and a step by step video and still a lot more goes into building. Not everyone can solder, know polarity and have test equipment and will be comfortable with trying and failures. Also having money to do so and even ordering parts and unseen modifications also bad parts lol yep happens and you pull your hair out like??? I see it as getting more people in the hobby spreading knowledge and making friends. Anyone who gets upset is greedy, selfish and someone I wouldn't to business with or associate with. Unfortunately I know two that shall remain unnamed that would flip out. They wouldn't tell someone how to replace a simple part or what to check because they want it back on the bench to make more money and I have seen brand new boxes go out and something happen before they arrive to the owners and still charge them to fix it and shipping. It's not always easy to eat a repair but to me it's the right thing to do and in the long run you have repeat consumers and build a rep and trust. Good luck with everything. I might need some help in the near future . I don't do anything anymore because eyes and nerves along with honestly I don't know everything.
Thanks for some great info, I would love to build my own just to say i built that! I have some knowledge in electronics, probably just enough to be dangerous but i do have all the tools, i do minor repairs on coin changers for vending machines and the coin handling part of the control boards for snack machines, this looks like it would be fun!
I appreciate you making this video. It’s obvious there’s a great deal more going on when producing an amp than what is seen when removing the cover. Keep the shiny side up. 73’s
I should have some more builds coming in the future, but for more info on how to build the amps look up gatekeeper amps here on RUclips, he has a lot of videos on how rf flows through the amps, relays keying circuits inductors capacitors, thank for checking my video out, take care.
Watched the ts video. About 1.5 to 3 max dead key and you don't need much more than 30 watts to let it do its thing. Couldn't comment on the video but man the true A/B biased amps draw less current and put out cleaner. Definitely put a fan on but they're though. Most never had one. I need a 200 amp power supply but $ is tight right now and idk i might just give up on it. About to get out of it with as expensive as it is. No help with antennas and stuff and health just to bad.
I don’t remember what the hfe was but I did two videos on testing it here ruclips.net/video/FMLdRURvMN4/видео.html it was peak , Iam just recently trying to learn the tuning process to get more out of the amps
There pretty expensive I get everything from ica or rf parts and it ends up being pretty close to what a 2-pill cost , but Iam not selling amps , Iam just tinkering with it to learn, thanks for everything.

I know exactly what you’re saying, thanks for replying back, if I can help any way just let me know.

Thanks for checking in out , it’s was fun learning and trying to figure it out, you can do it, thanks again.
thanks for the info, your doing great , built 2 thanks to you
Your welcome, and that’s awesome, that’s why I did it, in hopes it would help some one else , take care, thanks

Your welcome, there’s a little to it , but it can be done, take care 73s to you also.
I like the video are you going to show more like it
Thanks for the info

106- Thanks for your knowledge. 21 S.C. South Carolina
no problem 21 , thank you and take care.
the elephant in the room/amp (the big blue 150pf output cap..ha BTW really digging the bird meters....good job..73's
Oh yeah I was trying different output capacitors after I built the amp , but originally it was a silver mica dipped
i won a 2pill amp from 390 wagonmaster about week ago.
That’s awesome congratulations

i needed to know what model those big transformers were. Im building a 2 pill 2290 toshiba box to throw some volts at.
Rf transformers type 61 1.25 long 5/8 core , here is a link to ica www.icamanufacturing.com/shop/rf-transformer/type-61---58-core
After completed what was your output and how many watts drive? RMS/ Peak? Nice lay out sure it will help many. what was the HFE OF YOUR PILLS?
I don’t remember what the hfe was but I did two videos on testing it here ruclips.net/video/FMLdRURvMN4/видео.html it was peak , Iam just recently trying to learn the tuning process to get more out of the amps
The first video I sent you was with a galaxy 959 and this video is with a connex 3400 a little more drive ruclips.net/video/Z8WFoUgix9M/видео.html
damn i screwed up a lot,the pill screws are 3/8 long, and fan bolts are 1-1/2 long
Nice rc drag car
Yeah I got a bunch of rc cars .
@@frppower1 show them off
What's the cost on them parts now ??😅

@frppower1 yea they think we make money from this ..
