If Hasbro wants to cheap out on printing character bios on the packaging, give us a QR code or something with that info online. If box space and multiple languages are the reasons this went away, the QR code solves it. This is classic "we killed Optimus Prime because we thought he was just a toy" Hasbro thinking.

I’m guessing few people used the qr code bios even after they were moved to the top of the box so Hasbro axed them.
Or maybe I'm wrong and tons of people read the bios only for them to stop anyways because Hasbro fired the writer or something

I never use the QR codes coz I'm a luddite, but I definitely _clipped and saved_ the tech-specs back in the day. Having said that, I was aware of other kids in the 80s just ripping the package open and throwing it away,

We may joke, but character writing is something that costs relatively less of an investment than paint or articulation, but can sell people on a figure.
I’d love these “creative risks” if they were a little more creative.

The rock people definitely feel inspired, that getting them in a later purchase would be neat, but yes, having some notion of their character is usually the driving point more so than if it's a cool looking toy or not. Would we buy so many seekers in different colours if we didn't care who they were?

I wish these infernac guys and the fossilizers had their own toyline and show, or at least comicbook series. It feels like a missed opportunity to do something new with Transformers to me. Rocks vs fossils, or mix and match factions. Prehistoric rumble or something.

I like to think that Infernac is a lost transformer mining colony where over the course of millions of years of no contact with Cybertron due to the Great War, the transformers there evolved to become one with their planet. metal and rock fused together at the molecular level. They are able to transform into many different shapes and objects but its more of an imitation then a perfect copy like regular cybertronians

The lack of info on these guys feels really glaring compared to the prev modulators, who were either G1 characters or at least fit in with the theme of BW, whereas these guys are both completely original(beyond the Homage to a completely different brand) and just doing their own thing among a sea of established characters. Like who are they? Why are they here? Do they have a faction or leader? Or are they just MacGuffins waiting to be dug out of the rubble like MCs? They really need smth to garner interest for em, I feel.
Regardless, I enjoy the succinct style of your DQ videos! They make for an easy watch that I can always make time for compared to other reviews, while still giving a good look at the figures. Cheers!

Infernac was the name of Metlar's Lair in the show Inhumanoids. But these have NO reference to that, other than the Granites, living rocks. So...my opinion...Hasbro doesn't want to lose the trademark.
Still a neat review of some interesting toys.

Magneous does kind of resemble the rock monsters from an episode of headmasters, the episode where sixshot rescues Daniel from them.
I think its extra interesting that their completely factionless. good or evil you decide.

I've found that the top/shiled works better on the underside of the arm. How, you say? Pop them forearm bits off, and *they slot perfectly into the legs as gap fillers.*
Also, god, I cannot get enough of Bouldercrash's asymmetrical slashy head. Mmmmmmmgood.

you're right on about the rocks-on-robots thing being cool. These guys and the Fossilizers beat out the Weaponizers/Armorizers/Junkions whatever just because of the visual contrast. Robots with other robots for armor? Yawn, seen that for decades. Robots with *rock armor*? with *dinosaur skeleton armor*? Now THAT is something to turn your head for!

I really like the idea of these guys, but the monotone colour scheme is putting my off them. The upcoming 'copter boy looks interesting, though! I am interested in hearing about animated Prime, he's one I was considering but not sure on yet. Nothing beats that old voyager!

I know I got a long wait but as much as I want Magneous (was the most interested out of the four), I gonna get him when he is discounted. I just liked the look of him in robot mode and the monotone colours doesn't bother me (one of the few people that liked Leo Nemesis)!
Same with Bouldercrash but it's more of an bet. I'm betting the UK store "The Entertainer" will have him and the other two core classes for £4 later this year like they did with the last wave with Bomb-Burst!

Since they own both properties, now, they could've just had them be Rock Lords. Like they were Cybertronians that crashed on that planet and took those forms, BUT NO. Hasbro has to cheapen our experience and not do the obvious thing. I mean c'mon! They're obviously inspired by them anyway.

Knowing the lore can make or break a character. I liked GI Joe’s Bazooka until I saw what a moron he was on the cartoon. Similarly, Springer is a perfectly adequate character but his personality and bio card really sold the toy to me.
