Most flight schools offer introduction flights, quit inexpensive. You sit on the left seat with an instructor on the right seat and get a first feeling what flying is all about.

I had the privilege to participate in 2 flights from Tenerife to Fort Lauderdale in a Cessna Caravan. All this looks so familiar. An experience of a lifetime. I learned a huge amount (I have my private and instrument but not current) and saw places I never dreamed of. There is a surprising amount of traffic crossing from Goose Bay to Europe by various routes. Thanks for a great video Guido

Very good videos. I only did 1 ferry flight, 1990, Cessna 210 from Mena,Ark. to Wonderboom, S.A. Now it's my Experimental SuperCub and 747-400 and -8 Freighters.

Oh, Mr. Warnecke, I forgot to ask you about one item. Did you have a H.F. Radio installed, for "long range communication," i.e. check on the weather, far down your route of travel? Just curious. Thanks, m. donavon (p.s. last time I worked a USAF C-141B, we had 400 watt HF transceivers! Talk about power out. :)
On the leg from BGBW to CYYR HF is a requirement when below FL250.
We use temporary installations, approx 100W.

I heard later that the aircraft landed safely.
It was aKC-135 tanker (military version of the B707) with a hydraulic malfunction.

Great to see you posting again! Always learn something about ATC comm. Though we're told to only use approved phraseology, there are unusual situations that need more personal and conversational communications to be sure there are no misunderstandings. I also like to watch your non-standard approaches. Deplaning after the turning approach into KDCA's Rwy 19, I made some comment about it to the pilot, and she just beamed saying what great fun it was and how she loved it!

Radio communication is not easy and very prone to misunderstandings - which can be very dangerous.
Correct phraseology helps, but is never a guarantee that ATC and pilot have understood the same ting. If in doubt - ask!

That's inexpensive, you sit on the left seat with an instructor on board and get a feel what's going on.
